Racks and racks
And rails and rails
Of cloths and clothes
And shoppers in droves
And rows and rows
Of t-shirts and coats
All clawing for a half price salePackets and packets
And tins and tins
Of brand names and barcodes
And truckers on roads
And shows and shows
Of people's woes
Desperate for the distraction of sinsPerhaps, perhaps
Material needs
Will lead to destruction
And sow the seeds
Of a fragile future
While we're lost in a stupor
Of distraction, destruction and greed
