Harry's P.O.V
"You wouldn't be running from me now, would you Harry?" He asked menacingly as I closed the kitchen door over behind me, hiding from prying ears.
"No." I sighed, feeling a lump throb in my throat. "I just want one last night with her and my friends before I say goodbye."
"How sentimental of you. And how wise of you to take me up on my offer." He replied, his tone mocking and unsympathetic.
I cleared my throat and walked farther away from the door, hearing Cooper and Zayn squabble on the other side of it.
"Well, so long as you stick to our agreement, we won't have any problems. I'll work for you and you'll leave Scarlet alone." I insisted, my tone empty and flat. I was broken, defeated - I had given up.
"I never go back on my word, Harry. Unlike you." He spat, unable to control his anger towards me.
"Just tell me where to find you." I breathed out, pinching the bridge of my nose.
"No. I'll send someone for you tomorrow afternoon at precisely three o'clock." He demanded, knowing he could never fully trust me.
"Fine. Just give me tonight to say goodbye." I said quickly and hushed as I heard Scarlet call out my name. She had no idea that this trip wasn't us running away together - it was my final goodbye.
"I'll see you tomorrow, Harry. I look forward to having you back on my side. Sleep tight." He hung up, and I hurried to the door.
I was twelve years old when I realized that I was different. I had just started high school and I was playing football with my friends when this boy came over to us, and he must have been about fifteen. I remember thinking that I should have been afraid of him, that I should have cowered away like the rest of my friends did. He was taller than me, stronger than me, and physically I looked like a child when I stood in front of him. He was teasing one of my friends because of their glasses and it made me mad. He came at me - stood with his chest pressed to mine and asked me what I was going to do. He even ruffled my hair. And then I felt it, it was like someone had switched off every rational part of my brain. I snapped and I punched him, and I kept on punching him until his blood drenched my knuckles - until his eyes slowly struggled to stay open. I even smiled. I smiled as he faded into a dark and unconscious world. No one messed with me again after that - they were too afraid and I liked it. I liked being feared.
Scarlet poked her head around the kitchen door and smiled her perfect, dimpled smile. "Ready to go?" She asked, seeming so hopeful.
She was going to hate me for what I was about to do.
Scarlet's P.O.V
"Did he really have to come?" Cooper grumbled as Zayn sandwiched himself between Cooper and Amber, grinning as he did.
"Yes." Harry snapped, gripping onto my hand as we travelled down the dark and deserted road.
The car suddenly fell silent and the tension could be felt more intensely than before. Everyone was on edge and everyone was beginning to turn on one another. No one had space to breath and we had all been cooped up in Cooper's range rover for the past four hours. I looked over my shoulder and smiled reassuringly at Cooper, knowing Zayn had been getting on his nerves all day. He smiled back and slumped further into his seat, forcing his gaze out the car window. My eyes drifted past Zayn and over to Amber, who still looked a little shaken. Harry had made it clear that he didn't and would never trust her. But Cooper convinced him to let her come along, and I agreed. Charlie would have known about her part to play in this by now, and even she - his own daughter - wouldn't be safe.
