5.Barbecue

*Saturday*

Today we have to go to my mom's ex boyfriend's barbecue, I wish we could go to Jackson's family instead.

"Are you guys dressed yet?" My mom yelled to us

"Almost"I yell back

"Well hurry" she yells again

I am wearing a grey jumpsuit without sleeves, and some sneakers

"Ok i'm done" I say walking downstairs with my phone in my hand

"Good now get into the car" my mom says

We get into the car and my mom starts driving to the house I decide to text Jackson

{Me} Wish I was there with you bestie 

{Jacky} Same my dad said we are having new guest today and they have 3 teens my age so I hope they are cool

{Me} Well I gtg I just got here

{Jackson} ok bye best friend

I left him on read and hop out of the car.

Their house was a little bigger than ours, I wonder what they do as a career to get a house like this.

I am holding Lucy's hand and we all walk up to the door where my mom knocks on the door. The door opens to a really hot guy.

"Skylar, Derek good to have you, come in the party is in the backyard" the guy lets us in and we go to the backyard

"I'm Luis and my wife is upstairs with our 3 year old Timmy" Luis says

"Lillian" 

"Manny"

"Andrew"

"Lucy"

"and i'm Parker"

We introduce ourselves 

"Hold on let me get my son" Luis leaves and a pretty girl comes down with a little boy

"Omg Skylar" the girl hugs my mom

"Alissa you still look gorge" my mom says

The mom's have their mom talks and I am left playing paper, scissors, rock with Lucy.

"But dad I don't wanna be down here" I hear a teen voice say

"I don't care you have to and you will be nice to my ex girlfriend's kids" I hear Luis say

"Ugh Fine" He says

"Well guys this is my son Jackson" Luis says 

I turn for a second and I notice it's Jackson

"Hi" He says but doesn't look up from his phone

"Well Manny and I have to leave" Drew says and they both leave

"I'm sorry he really wanted his girlfriend Lily to come" Alissa says and I blush

"Mom can you not embarrass me" Jackson looks at his mom then to his phone

"Aww teen love" my mom says

{Jackson} I'm bored and my mom just embarrassed me

{Me} Oh lol why don't you get to meet the teens 

{Jackson} I did they aren't even cool

{Me} Liar

{Jackson} No i'm not they are nerds 

I stand up and walk towards Jackson but he doesn't notice me because he is busy on his phone.

"So i'm not cool for you?" I ask him and he looks up

"Lily you made it" Jackson gets up and hugs me

He then lets go and looks at me confused

"Wait your my dad's ex girlfriend kids?" He asks and I nod

"Well wanna go to my room and watch a movie?" He asks and I nod

We walk upstairs to his room and I notice he's actually a clean guy. He goes sit on his bed and I sit on his chair by his desk.

"What are you doing?" Jackson asks me

"Sitting in a chair" I say

"Come sit it me I have room on my bed" He pats a spot next to him and I sit there

 He reaches for his remote behind me but instead of pulling is arm away from my shoulder he wraps it around me and starts looking for a movie.

"So what movie?" he asks me

"Nemo" I say

He plays Nemo and I put my head on his shoulder.

"No Nemo's dad wake up!" I yell and tears start coming down

"Your weird you know that" Jackson says

"I know but it's just sad" I put my head into his chest

"It's ok let it out" Jackson rubs my back which feels really comfortable

I pick my head up and look into Jackson's eyes and he starts to lean in, I also lean in then our lips smah together.

I start feeling sparks but I pull away

"I'm sorry you have a girlfriend I shouldn't have done" I couldn't finish because soon his lips come back to mine

"It's ok I made the move and Scarlett is cheating on me anyways" Jackson says

Knock

I move away from Jackson and in comes Alissa and my mom

"Honey we are leaving" she says and I get off his bed

"Well i'll see you Monday" I say to Jackson and walk out

We get home and my mom holds me back

"I know you like Jackson I can see it in your eyes" she says

"No I don't he's just my best friend" I say and she nods

I walk into my room 

Do I really like Jackson?
