London is going down

Students were walking around the campus of the King's College of London. I looked at them wondering what they could possibly think about. "Riley? Are you listening to me?" asked Marni. Well, to be honest, i wasn't. At all. All she was talking about these last few days were the exams. And i was daydreaming as usual. I couldn't concentrate on the exams for whatever reason. "Yeah, yeah" i answered looking at her. She sighted and shook her head, going back to her book. "I really need to go, i have things to do, see you tomorrow" i told her, taking my notebook and my bag and leaving her buried in her revisions. What a nerd.

As i made my way towards the tube, i noticed today's newspaper. Some weird things were happening in the city of London lately. Some shootings at the Royal Opera House, car chases around town. People were scared. I was scared. And today was also the case. "Man found dead at the Fabric night club" was written in capitals on the front page of The Sun. I felt like someone was watching me. Shivers went down my spine as i took a deep breath and turned my back, making my way in the opposite direction. London is going down.

I looked at the people on the tube. An old lady was reading the newspaper, a worried look on her face. The person next to her was bitting her nails. A man was standing against the door, looking at the young woman in front of him. The man next to her was starring at me. My heart skipped a beat.
I turned away, trying to catch my breath. What a creep. Once the tube stopped, i made my way as fast as possible out of it. I checked behind me to see if he followed me. I let out a sight of relief when i noticed he wasn't.

When i pushed the front door of the little house i lived in, i noticed how quiet it was in here. Too quiet. Uncle Patrick must have left early to go to the tailor he worked at. I wished he was there, because i felt lost in this chaos. And i felt in danger for a reason that was still unknown to me. All i knew was that i needed to see him, as fast as possible. Taking my leather jacket and putting my red fiery hair in a ponytail, i decided to go to the tailor to see him.

The streets were now dark and empty. The wind was freezing my uncovered skin and the sun was now setting. It was strangely quiet for a friday night. Maybe too quiet. I pushed the door of the Kingsman store and saw my uncle go down the stairs. "Riley, what are doing here?" He asked me in his thick scottish accent. He seemed surprised. "Just wanted to say hello.. So hello!" I smiled at him. I could tell he knew something was going on by the look he gave me. But he still nodded and sat on the couch, patting the place next to him. I walked towards the couch and sat. "Now, tell me why you are here." He asked while pouring himself a fancy whisky. He knew i was lying. I was such a bad liar. "Just wanted to see my uncle, isn't that normal?" I asked him while playing with my fingers. "That's not why you are here, i know it. Did something happen?" He asked, looking at me with a worried look on his face. "No, not at all!" I paused. "I mean.. Well.." I was going to tell him the creepy story on the tube when a guy went down the stairs in an elegant suit. He wasn't paying attention. He didn't notice that i was here. "Merlin", he started, "i need to know if Poppy said anything about Jameson." He turned around and muttered the S word when he saw me. He was good looking, can't lie. He was wearing the same glasses as Patrick. But why did he just called him "Merlin"? I looked at my uncle who was now standing. "Eggsy, can i talk to you in private?" he commanded. Before that Eggsy guy could answer, i stood up. I wanted to say something, but the words weren't coming out my mouth.

I was looking at both of them. What the hell was happening? "Merlin...?" I managed to pronounce. Patrick, or should i call him Merlin, let out a loud sight. "Riley, you weren't supposed to know this." I blurted. Eggsy was looking at the ground. "Well, now, i know, so can you explain to me what the fuck is going here? And who is this guy? Who are Poppy and Jameson?!" I blurted, clenching my hands. I was now furious. I didn't even knew what was happening. I just wanted to go home and sleep for a week. I really didn't need this. Not right now. "Well.. I think i'm going to go" said Eggsy, before giving an encouraging look to Merlin. "Can you sit down, please" asked my uncle.
