"If you switch today from Z-Mobil or LO&L, you can get up to $650 in credit, for each line!" The ad playing in the bus on my ride to school promised. "Even if you have 5 lines, $650 for each! Guaranteed!"
"Hmm." I thought. "650X5... I can't work that out in my head." I thought. "Wait..." I said out loud. "I can multiply 500 by 5!" I said back in my head. "That's 2500. Now what's left over? 650-x=500... Oh! X=150!" I worked out. "So... 150X5 is... Dang it." My brain farted. "Hold on... 15 times 5 is 75. So 150 times 5 must be... 750! Duh!" I patted myself on the back. "So, 2500+750=3250. Wow! So $3250!" I felt proud for figuring THAT out. I then realized how much time I just wasted of my life.
