"Zoe, come on. if you want this them you have to wake up now!" My mum said shacking me. I got up and sighed. "Okay, okay. I am getting up." I got changed and walked downstairs. I ate breakfast then grabbed my money and my phone. "Lets go." We walked out the house and headed to town. "Why are you being nice to me mum?" "Because. You have gone through so much. Moving every year. Having to find new friends. Your father. You just deserve a treat. It can also be seen as a well done for trying to improve." She said squeezing my hand. "Even though we cant have piercings or hair dye at school?" "I honestly don't care. As long as your happy.
We went to the hair dressers first. It took ages. They bleached my hair and then added the colour. Mum got bored half way through and went food shopping. She came back just I time, as I just got of the chair as she walked back in. "Ohh, Zoe. You look beautiful." She stroked my hair. We paid and them went and had lunch. My mum paid for us. We had burger king and then my mum took me to Starbucks.
After that my mum took me to the tattoo place to get my piercings. "Hello, how can I help you?" A lady said. "My daughter would like some piercings." I smiled weakly and she looked at me. "How many do you want?" "Five." "What do you want?" "Snake bits, shark bits, that one the so vertically through the middle of your lip, eyebrow and my nose." I smiled after speaking and she looked at me weirdly. "Why do you want so many at once?" "Cause if I go more then once my dad will kill me." She smiled at me and started.
Once do my face ached. "Beauty is pain Zoe." I smiled and we paid. "Do you want me to carry the bags?" If dad sees you holding them he will probably shout at me." I said. She handed me the bags and we walked home. My mum opened the door and we walked in. "I felt stupid. If dad sees me he is going to flip out. Wait, no. I look really good. I like them. Its my body I will do what I want with it." I thought as I unpacked the shopping. "Your dad is out, so if you want to call Owen over you can?" I smiled and called Owen straight away.
"Zoe, what's up?" "Want to come over?" "I thought you were busy?" "I was. But now I am done. So if you cant wait until tomorrow you can come over and see." "Okay, I will over in two minutes. I am going to cycle as I want to see the messy you have made." "Okay." He hung up and I carried on doing what I was doing. "He can stay for dinner." My mum called so I texted him to say he can come over for dinner.
He knocked on the door five minutes later. "Your three minutes late." I said opening the door. "He looked am me, then rubbed his and then looked again. "Your hair is mint green." "Yeah." "You have piercings." "Yeah." "You look hot." "Thanks." "Where should I put my bike?" "Oh yeah. I will unlock the side gate." I closed the door and walked out the back and opened the side gate. "Thanks." He said.
We walked into the living room and then went upstairs into my room. "So, what do you want to do?" I said sitting on my bed. Owen saw my folder under my bed and pulled it out. He took every page out and looked at them. "Jesus Christ Zoe. I knew you were good but these are amazing. You should join that art competition. The winner wins thousand pounds." "I don't need the money." "Yeah, but people need to see your art work." "Why?" "That could impact your future." "What draw my emotions instead of talking about them?" "Yeah. You could become a artist when your older." "Owen, I love you. But you have your head in the clouds. I can't win. I hate my work. If I do like it, I keep looking at it and then start to see the mistakes." "I have faith in you." "Fine. Tomorrow we can enter my name in if it makes you happy." "Yeah." We high fives and them played on my xbox until my mum called us down.
"Zoe showed me her art work. Then I persuaded her to join a competition." Owen said eating a few chips of my plate. "Really?" "Yeah. I think she is going to win." "Zoe, please eat." My mum said. "My lip hurts. If we have icecream I can eat that." I smile. "Your going to say that every day." "No!" "Don't get lippy." "Wow. Your kindness lasted long." I stood up, grabbed a spoon, grabbed my left over cookie dough icecream from the freezer and stormed upstairs.
I sat on my bed and ate. There was a knock at my door. "Zoe, can I come in?" "Course, your Owen not my parents I said and carried on eating. "Is it tasty?" "It's cookie dough. Of course it is." I said. He sat on my bed next to me. "Wow, I see why your always upset." "Yep. They turn on me for doing nothing." "Can I have some?" Owen said trying to take the spoon from me. "No. You had my chips."
After a while Owen went home. I hugged him goodbye and locked the gate. A few minutes later, my dad knocked on the door. I answered it and he looked pissed. "I nearly hit that Owen kid." I closed the door and walked upstairs. "Wait?" I stood still and sighed. "Turn around." I did as told and looked at him. "What happened to your face and hair. If I find out that Owen put you up to that we are moving straight away." "No. This has nothing to do with Owen. I wanted it. I got it done." I said. "Don't argue with me." I stormed upstairs and tried to get some sleep. Mum and Dad were arguing about my hair and piercings. But finally I managed to fall to sleep. I wonder what will happen tomorrow?
