I woke up that morning to the sound of an unpleasant alarm clock going off.

Damn it. I don't want to get up!

I reached over and moved my fingers around to see where the off switch was. I opened my eyes painfully trying to see better, but it was no use.

I pulled my other arm out from underneath of me and held the alarm clock in place while I switched it off.

Really?! Now I'm cold again.

I snuggled down into my pillow and pulled the blankets over my shoulders.

Geez, I gotta get warm again. It's freezing out there.

I smiled, happy to be warm again.

Well I had better get up.

I pushed off the blankets covering me.

WAIT! NO! ITS WAY TOO COLD FOR A CITY GIRL LIKE ME TO GET UP!!!

I hurried and covered myself again, this time pulling the corners of the blanket in, cocooning myself.

Hold on a second.
I better text Alex to make sure he knows I'm ok and not dead haha.

I quickly reached a shivering hand over to my night stand and grabbed my phone. Hurrying to pull it back under and warm it up.

Well I just wanna call him. Hope he doesn't mind.

I clicked his number and waited for an answer.

I hummed to myself before hearing a familiar voice.

"Hello?"

"Hey- wait. Wait. You're, this-this isn't, this isn't Alex?!"

"Yeah. Well, no, no it's not.. Alex?"

My breath quickened and I started to panic.

Had I called a stranger?!?!,!,?
WHAT DID I DO, WHAT AM I GOING TO DO. I CAN'T JUST HANG UP! I HAVE TO, IDK APOLOGIZE FOR CALLING OR SOMETHING! THIS IS SO TERRIBLE, WHAT AM I GOING TO DO.

"Oh! I'm- I'm so s-sorry!"

"Yeah, you sound kinda familiar, do I know you?"

"Um, probably n-not, s-sorry."

"Wait! Your Lily, aren't you!?"

"Wel-"

"Yeah, that's it. Sorry, I don't have caller ID. How's it going?"

"Who, who is this?"

"Sebastian, you did call me, shouldn't you know? Oh wait, yeah you must have been trying to call, Alex."

"Yeah."

"Well should I let you go so you can?"

"Uh, idk, maybe." my voice was noticeably trembly and I started to panic, wondering if he could hear it.

"Well, do you wanna talk?"

I didn't answer, knowing I was on the edge of a panic attack.

"Hey, are you ok."

"I-I just have to c-call Alex."

"Are you sure, is something wrong, you can trust me."

"I'm- I'm just not f-feeling good!"
"I have to go! I'll text you l-later!"

"Ok.. Well hope you feel better soon."

I quickly hung up and called Alex.

I waited about four rings and hung up.

You: Alex, answer please, now, please

I curled up in a ball and my whole body tensed. I was spinning and my lungs felt like they caved in. Leaving me out of breath and crying. Hugging my knees as tight as I could and pushing my head into them.

I heard my bedroom door barge open and someone run in.

"Lily!"

I looked up.

"A-a--al-e-x" I tried to say in-between short, harsh breaths.

He came running over to me on my bed and pulled me towards him. He sat in front of me on his knees and I grabbed onto him. Hugging him as tightly as I had my knees.

"Lily, Lily shh, it's ok, it's ok, everything's alright. You're going to be alright ok, it's ok, don't worry I'm here." His arms were around me and he held onto my back with his hands. He rubbed circles in my back in efforts to soothe me.
I managed to nod to what he was saying a few times between my short breaths.

My body tensed a few last times and then finally settled, making me even more tired than I was before.

I collapsed into Alex's arms and he laid down. He gently put me down onto his chest and softly pet my hair as to calm me down. Alex wrapped his arms around me and I snuggled into the crook of his neck. I was glad he was here for me right now.

"Alex." I said, looking up at him.

"Yeah lil sis?"

I looked into his curious eyes with my half asleep ones.

"Can I go sleep?"

"Sure," he smiled.

"Right here. Just like this."

"Of course Lil."

I snuggled down into his chest furthers and tightened my hands -full of his shirt- into fists as to bring me closer to him.

"I'm cold." I said weakly.

"Do you want me to get you a blanket?"

"Mhm." I started, not fully realizing what was about to happen.

He started to get up, but I was, unhappily dragged up with him.

"Wait! Don't leave me, your my only source of heat at the moment!"

He gave a pathetic smile and probably thought something along the lines of-
Can this girl be anymore childish.

His hands quickly picked me up and pulled the blankets down, carefully setting me down beneath them.

"Alex?"

"Yeah Lily?" He sounded tired as well.

"How did you get here so quick, it takes longer to get here from your house than how quick you did."

"Can we talk about this later. You're tired and should sleep." Alex said coldly.

I looked up at his eyes and noticed they were red. He probably didn't sleep much last night. Or at all.
I nodded and burrowed my face into his chest.

It was 8:32, we'll be late for school. Well, nothing's going to get me up now.
