"Make sure to call me if he starts misbehaving, okay?" my dad said to the lady standing next to him, smiling kindly at her. I stared at them from my spot on the couch with the TV remote in my hands. We had been taking a break from studying, as she was my home tutor currently, when my dad had announced that he's to go on a little quick business trip. Now I guess she's my tutor and my babysitter too.
It's been a few hours since he's been gone. We've gone on and off with the sutdying and those random breaks here and there. She gets on my nerves a little bit, if I'm honest. Nothing too bad, she's just too bubbly for me to really favor her. As I'm reading something of my phone, she sat up and yawned, "Well, Carter, I have to go to the bathroom. Be right back."
I watched her walk off into our hallway and I shut off my phone, and stood up. I rubbed my eyes tiredly, walking down that same hall after I hear the door close. I opened a door that's small in width that's used to hold brooms, and pull out a dffferent kind of tool. She probably going to be mad at me for breaking objects, she's going to scold me I know, but I have to.
She opened the door and jumped when she saw me close by to the door. "Oh! Carter, you scared me," she said with a light laugh. I liked her laugh actually, besides her annoying personality, her laugh was very sweet sounding to my ears that moment. Within the next mere second, there were two sense I felt working above all others; my sight, and my hearing. What I first heard, was her sweet, joyous laugh. I saw her then looked shocked and back up some steps. And then, I heard a crack, and two thumps.
Her body fell right next to my ankles and so did my hammer, the hammer gently bumping the side of her head. Her expression was frozen in place, causing me to frown. I sighed and ran my hand through my hair, and dragged her back down into the living room, muttering "too messy" a couple times during the trip.
I grabbed my phone and started to call my dad. Without even answering he walked in through the front door still smiling as he was before. "Good job, Carter, but next time take less time."
I frowned even deeper. I know she's mad at me, I'm right for sure. But I can't hear their shouting anymore.
