Chapter 3

I pulled up into the driveway at my house, checking to make sure my mother wasn't home. I didn't see her car. I shut mine off and walked inside. I opened my front door and closed it softly, even though I knew she wasn't home. I started for the stairs when I felt a sharp pain in my back and feel on the ground, "You stupid little bitch. How can something like you ever be my daughter?" I felt another sharp pain in my back and tears prang into my eyes and started to fall, "You're the reason why your fucking father left! He didn't want you now I got stuck with you! Go upstairs you little whore, don't come out until dinner." She kicked me and walked away. I thought she wasn't here. Her car wasn't here; maybe it was in the garage. I pushed myself off of the ground and ran up the stairs, tears running down my face. I thought about calling Kyra and telling her I couldn't hang out today but thought not too. She might ask what happened. I walked into my bathroom and looked at my back, Okay it's not that bad. I dried my eyes and fixed my makeup before going back into my room. My phone went off signaling a text. I unlocked my phone and looked at it.

To: Me

When are you coming over? Aiden and T.J are waiting for us. We better hurry:)

I sighed when I read it. Knowing my back would be sore. I had to stick through it for another year.

I fixed my shirt and grabbed my jacket and walked downstairs quickly, running out the door and into my car. I blasted my music, thinking about what just happened, not knowing what the song was. I met Kyra, Aiden, and T.J. at Kyra's place slowing and turning down my music as I pulled up, Kyra and Aiden running to me as I got out of the car, T.J. slowly walking down the driveway with his hands in his pockets.

"You finally made it." Aiden said as he gave me a hug. I flinched and hugged him back. Kyra waiting for her turn, and tapping her foot.

"Finally." Kyra gave me a tight squeeze which made me wince even more. As Kyra pulled away T.J. walked up to me and stuck out his hand.

"HI." He put on a cheeky smile. I laughed lightly and pulled him in for a hug.

"HI." I said as we pulled away, Kyra her mouth open agape and Aiden looking confused. "Are we going or not?" I looked at Kyra and she grabbed Aiden's hand and started to walk towards the woods behind her house. Aiden and Kyra were up ahead leaving me and T.J. behind.

"Why were you crying?" He watched his feet as he asked and slowly look up to meet my eyes. My face went pale and he caught that. "I see. Not going to tell the 'new guy' huh?" My cheeks went red a little and I took a deep breath.

"How did you know?" I asked looking him in the eye.

"You hugged me." He looked at me and sped off towards Kyra and Aiden, leaving confused on what he meant. What did he mean?
