Chapter 1

Terra's P.O.V

     I finished with a twirl and landed on my knees, "great job Terra that's enough for tonight its getting late" Mrs. Cindy said and walked out of the studio i was in. we are working on a dance routine for the regional next month. i walk over to the mirror where my stuff is and get my phone out

hey sweety, i have to work late tonight and cant pick you up from dance can you walk please text me when you get home.

     'uggh she always does this to me' i think as i walk into the changing room and pull on a pair of jeans and my black vans and a band tshirt. i grab my back pack and walk out of the room i pass Mrs.Cindy's office on the way out and pop my head in. "bye Mrs.Cindy see you Saturday" i say and walk out "Bye Terra" i hear her say back as i walk down the hall.  i push open the door to the dance studio and start walking down the street.

     When I'm about half way home i hear someone walking behind me, i look over my shoulder and see a sketchy looking man fallowing me. I pick up my pace and walk faster down the street, i hear the guy walk faster too. I'm about to start running when a hand wraps around my wrist and pulls me back. My back hits the guys chest and he reeks of alcohol and cigarettes i try to pull my hand away but he tightens his hold on my wrist.

     "hey pretty lady what are you doing walking all alone at this time of night?" he says and i shudder in disgust "LET ME GO!!!" i scream and try and  pull my hand away from the guy but his grip tightens yet again. i feel his lips press to my neck i feel the bile rise in my throat. 'i guess it was a good thing mom mane me take those self defense classes' i think as i kick the guys knee which causes his grip to loosen. i yank my grip from his and turn around, i throw the heel of my hand into his nose, i hear a sickening crack and blood starts to gush from his nose.

     i turn on my heel and sprint down the street "YOU STUPID BITCH GET YOUR ASS BACK HERE" he screamed and ran after me i was pretty far ahead because i was in track. i turned a corner and was going down a deserted part of the town. i looked back and saw the guy was getting closer to me, i run into a hard surface and fall onto my but 'i shouldn't have looked back if i was going to run into a wall'  i think as i get up and am about to stop running again "watch where your going!" i hear a voice say.

     "same to you" i say in a rush i hear the guy getting closer to me "now i must be going have a good night" i say panic seeping into my voice. i look up and see Hunter marks the schools resident bad boy there's a look of concern on his face. "hey are you OK?" he asks "ya but i need to go bye" i say in a rush and turn to start running when I'm pushed to the ground.

     i hit my head on the concrete and am on my back then i feel someone kick me in the side, i hear a loud crack and scream out in pain. i roll over and am kicked again but this time in the stomach. i struggle to breath because all the air was knocked out of my lungs.

"thump"

     i look over and see my attacker on the ground , i start to get up and feel a hand on my waist helping me. i look over and see hunter helping me, i see black dots flying around in my vision and the world starts to spin "are you ok?" i look over and see hunter staring at me i nod. i cough into my hand and taste a metallic liquid in my mouth i cough into my hand again and it feels wet. i look down and see blood in my hand, the black dots start to take over my vision and my knees give out and i fall to the ground.

     "shit!" i hear a voice say "you need to stay awake for me OK" the voice says and i shake my head and i feel myself getting picked up off the ground "911 whats your emergency" "i need an ambulance to meet me at the Starbucks on 74th street its serious i will be there soon""ok we are sending an ambulance down there right now........  that's all i remember before everything goes black.

Hunters P.O.V  

     i was walking home from another on of my fights, the streets are empty and I'm kind of out of it because im really tired and i don't see the girl running down the street until she runs into me. she falls to the ground on her butt I'm irritated and snap at her "watch where your going" "same to you" she says i catch a hint of panic in her voice "now i must be going, have a good night" she says with panic in her voice.

   i look at her with concern "are you OK?" i ask he "ya im fine but i have to go bye" she turns to leave  it all happens so fast i don't have any time to react a guy runs up to her and pushes her down, i hear her head hit the ground and the guy kicks her in the side i hear a sickening crack and her scream out in pain. he kicks her again but in the stomach and she curls up into a ball. the guys face is covered in blood and his nose is crooked, i waste no time and punch the guy in the face.

     he falls to the ground passed out and i see the girl start to get up and i help her."are you ok" i ask her she nods and coughs in her hand, she coughs again but this time pulls her hand back and i see blood in her palm and she falls to the ground.

    "shit!" i curse and get out my phone "i need you to stay awake so i know your ok" i say she shakes her head and i dial 911 "911 whats your emergency" i hear the person on the other line "i need an ambulance to meet me at the Starbucks on 74th street its serious i will be there soon"  "ok we are sending an ambulance out to that location" the person says and i hang up and start running towards the location when i get there an ambulance is waiting for us i run towards them and speak calm but quick "she is coughing up blood and she hit her head" i say they pull out a gurney and i lay her down the female paramedic cuts open her shirt and feels her side.

     "her ribs are broken" she flashes a light in the girls eyes "her pupils are dilated we need to get there soon because she might have a concussion" the guy nods and they load her in the back i climb in and they close the back in the light i get a better look at the girls face and instantly recognize her. Terra Micheal's the school nerd, we get to the hospital and they rush her inside i follow them in and sit in the waiting room the nurse asks me if i know her name so they could phone her mom "Terra Micheal's" the nurse nods "can you let me know when she gets out of surgery if she ok" she nods again

30 minutes later

a woman rushes into the E.R and goes to the front desk "is my daughter ok her name it Terra Micheal's" she says in hysterics "she is still in surgery please sit down and we will know soon" the nurse tells her. she sits down and starts to sob i sit next to her.

1 hour later

"Terra Micheal's?" a Doctor says

     i get up and walk over so does her mom "shes going to be just fine" he says and walks away her mom cry's out in relief and sits down i walk out the door and down the street. 'at least shes ok' i think to myself  'wait why do i care.........
