Day One- After the dance
*ZACK'S POV*
What's wrong with me? I shifted away as soon as I touched Zoey's hand. It was almost like she zapped me... But, in a good way...
Again, what is wrong with me?
Think about Samantha... Zoey is a very pretty girl, and you love Samantha. You are going to rescue Samantha and you'll both live happily ever after.
I heard Zoey sigh and I almost sighed with her. It's bad when you want to sigh because a girl has a cute sigh... I am not making any sense, am I?
"Hey, Zoey?" She looked up at me.
"I'm gonna go look in Samantha's room for clues. You don't mind, do you?" I asked. She smiled at me.
"No, go ahead. If you find anything, make sure you let us know."
Us? Oh yeah, the other girls... Right. Where are they all gonna sleep? I wandered upstairs and pushed the door open to Samantha's room and my jaw dropped.
Her room was empty.
No clothes, no bed, even her curtains from her windows were gone. Nothing. Nada.
But, her scent. The smell of her perfume. It was still there.
Well, there goes looking for clues. Maybe Will's room?
I walked down the hall and pushed open his door. Will snored quietly from his bed. I started at his dresser, looking through his drawers and reading every word in his notebooks. Nothing that suggests what the bleep is going on.
I check his bookshelf, under his bed, I even knocked on his walls to check if they were hallow and stuff. Everything was normal.
I then remembered Miles, and how she was always carrying that purple notebook. No, it wasn't a notebook. It
was to small for that. A diary?
Of course. I've been looking in the wrong places, I should have checked Miles room first.
Once I reached her room, I checked her desk first, and it wasn't there. I rubbed my temples. Think. She's a girl hiding something that contains her deepest and darkest secrets and her feelings. Where do girls normally hide diaries?
I looked literally everywhere, her backpack, behind her bookshelf. Heck, I thought that the best hiding place would be the back of a tampon box. Nope.
"Hey, find anything?" Zoey's sweet voice drifted into the room.
Hold up. Did I just say her voice was sweet? And it drifted? How does a voice flipping drift?
"Uh. No, nothing. Need something?" Great. Now I sound rude.
"Oh, no, I'm fine. Dinner is done though. You could take a break and look for clues later. Maybe we could help." She's so sweet...
GOSH. Stupid hormones...
"Yeah. That sounds good."
And it was good. Dinner, I mean. And after dinner the girls and I searched the house forever and found nothing.
"Dang. How hard can it be to find one book?" I asked, scratching my head.
"Well, it's a book she obviously didn't want to be found... Where's Hayden?" Zoey asked. Rachael and Ariel shrugged their shoulders.
Honestly, is it that hard to keep track of one guy?
"I'll go look for him I guess. He has to be in the house." I turned and walked out the door.
*HAYDEN'S POV*
I'm not crazy. And yes, I know that she's dead.
"Miles. Everyone is looking for that book babe. Can you tell me where it is?" I looked at her. We were in a very bright room. Well, I wasn't sure if we were actually in a room. Where ever we were, it was so bright that I could only see her.
She nodded, her bright blonde hair floating around her head like a halo.
"It's in a safe place."
"Yes, honey, but where is that safe place? We really need your diary. If you can't show me where it is, you have to tell me how you knew what was going to happen. It might help us bring Samantha home. For good." I looked at her angelic face.
"The rules of being a ghost are strict. When you're an Angel and a ghost, that's even harder. You and I both know that. I can't say a word to you. I have to go, but remember, I'll always be with you in your dreams. I love you... Hayden. It's in a safe place."
I sat up quickly and rubbed the sweat off my forehead. Think. Safe place.
"....Hayden. Hayden? You there?" Zack's voice called from a distance.
I sat up from my bed and called out, "I'm in my room. I'll be down in a minute."
I went into my bathroom and washed my face. When I looked up in the mirror, I saw that my eyes were bright red and swollen.
Had I been crying? Of course... I really miss her, even if she can visit me in my dreams. It's not the same. I can't touch her, hold her, kiss her.
I wish she was dead. Really dead. That way, I'll know she was really gone. Having her here and in front of me and not being able to touch her.... it's the worst pain in the world.
*ANGELINA'S POV*
Crap. This sets back my plan. That idiot had to push me out of the way and take the claws in his gut.
Ugh. I threw open my castle door, hearing a satisfying thud as it hit the wall.
My heels made click-clack noises as they met the stone floors, I pass one suit of armor after another. Spider webs dangle in front of me, and occasionally a spider lands on me.
I make turns after turns, heading deeper and deeper inside my castle, heading closer to the heart of my new home.
I threw up one last heavy wooden door and climbed up a short flight of stairs. In the room held my prized possession, relaxing on a huge spider web.
The spider web he made for himself.
"Chuck, mommy's home! Gather up your brothers and sisters, mommy has a job for them." I called cheerfully, not wanting my children to sense my anger and frustration.
My 6ft long and 3ft tall spider came into view, and he looked at me, tilting his head, as if to say 'Where is daddy?'.
"Daddy will be home late. But that's ok, mommy's here. Now be a good boy and do what you're told. We have some spying to do." with that, Chuck turned around and headed the other way to call his siblings.
Now, I can finally put my plan into action. I won't let Ben die in vain.
