Becka's POV

Eric introduced me to an elderly woman.

"Becka this is Hannah, Hannah, Becka whom I have been telling you about." Eric said as he took the grocery bags from Hannah.

"Its nice to meet you Hannah." I said smiling.

"Its nice to meet you too darling, I do hope that I'll get to see you more often." Hannah said as she pulled me into a motherly hug.

Which I returned, something I don't remember about my mom and its time for me to stop thinking of her. She never was a mother material for me.

After greeting Hannah, I decided to spend the rest of the day in bed.
Before I reached the stairs, the door bell rang, Hannah went to get the door, when she opened it there stood a girl she's so pretty she even looked like a supermodel.

"Eric!"she yelled, she didn't even say good morning to Hannah, she just walked right past her as if she didn't even exist.

The girl was wearing a floral dress with white shoes, her hair was in a high pony tail. She walked up to Eric and kissed him on his lips, when I saw that I felt my heart pounding but I shake it off. I didn't want to stick around so I went into the kitchen with Hannah.

"Hannah, are you alright?" I asked seeing that her mind might be somewhere else.

"I'm fine dear." She replied trying to sound fine.

"Hannah, why don't you go take a rest I'll prepare dinner." I said as I placed both my hands on her shoulders in a comforting way.

Hannah smiled at me then said, "How can you take this whole situation lightly, I know what happened between you and Eric, I know he bought you but why aren't you trying to leave?" she asked.

Honestly I never really prepared my self for those questions, I can't bring myself to tell her. "Hannah, enough about me, you should be resting." I said quickly changing the subject.

"Becka, you're the sweetest girl I have ever met and I want to let you know that I am here if you ever want to talk." Hannah said then left the kitchen. I stood there thinking about what Hannah said about me not trying to leave. I mean if I left I wouldn't have anywhere to stay and I'm not going back to my mom's house after what she did but Eric has been so nice to me, he treats me like I'm apart of his family but what is keeping me here.

"Because you like Eric." my subconscious said.

"I do not, he wouldn't even fall for a girl like me." I replied back in my head.

"How about when he almost kissed you a few minutes ago." my subconscious taunted back. Hearing those words made my heart skip a beat, we almost did kiss but he's with that girl I'm only here because he wants to look after someone other than Hannah, maybe he sees me as the sister he never had and wants to give me a life." I replied back but kind of feeling that I'm not even convincing myself with the situation I'm having in my head.

I emptied the bags that Hannah had and within a few minutes I started preparing dinner. I looked after, some pasta, salad, fruit juice, black forest cake, blueberry pie and muffins.

2 hours later

"Wow, Becka, this  is lovely!" Hannah exclaimed making me jump also spilling some of the juice I was pouring out.

"Hannah." I whined as I tried to refrain myself from laughing.

"I'm so sorry but this is the first time that I have seen this much food cooked in this house." she replied as she helped me clean up the little mess I made.

"Is it too much?" I asked a little panicked.

"No, at least you did me a huge favor for not allowing me to cook for the whole day tomorrow." Hannah chuckled as she continued pouring the juice in the glasses.

"Hannah, how about I help you cook, you've been nice to me, despite me being a stranger you still ..." I didn't get to finish when she stopped me.

"Becka, I meant that you really are the sweetest girl I have ever met. And it would be surprise if you and Eric end up together." Hannah said making my eyes widened like saucers.

Before I could say anything she continued, "I can see the way you look at him Becka, you love him."

"Hannah, it doesn't work like that, he's a rich man, I'm a poor woman and in life rich guys always falls for rich girls not the poor ones besides what why would he even love me when my very own mother say I was a mistake because I didn't take up drinking like she did but instead stayed sober like my dad. Hannah maybe I'll never find love again, you know I used to believe that I would have a happy ending like those princesses in fairy tales. The princes fall in love with whoever they choose princess or not." I said holding down my head.

"Becka, I promise that you will have a happy ending, you will have your prince charming soon. Now let's set the table so you can go and rest, okay." Hannah said holding up the plates.

"Okay, Lady Hannah." I replied making us both laugh.
