Belle's P.O.V

I landed on four paws. Duncan's face showed pure astonishment, my pink eyes locked with his gold ones "can you talk?" He asked still in shock I shook my head no, we sat there for awhile doing nothing but watching the view. Eventually he pulled out a cigarette I couldn't help but eye it hungrily, I guess he saw but I didn't notice "want one?" He asked smirking, my fur was hot with embarrassment I looked away nodding my head slowly "fine, but you gotta shift back first" he chuckled, so I did as he said and shifted back to my human form. He handed me a cigarette and once we were done with that we watched the sunset. Getting an idea I walked over to my backpack, searching through it I finally found what I was looking for. Hiding what I had gotten behind my back, as I sat next down next to Duncan he gave me a confused look "what are you doing?" I looked down "promise not to judge?" I asked holding out my left pinky finger "I promise" he spoke wrapping his pinky finger around mine, with warm smiles I slowly pulled out my pipe, lighter, and marijuana from behind my back, his face was priceless "you smoke weed?" I nodded my head "do you?" I asked shyly, he nodded his head I gave him a chuckle and packed a bowl, we stayed quiet for about half of the bowl before we started talking once more "so do you know how to shotgun?" He asked "beer or pot?" I shot back, he chuckled "pot" I put my head down feeling blush slowly creep on my cheeks "well?..." he encouraged me to tell him "I know what you're talking about...but I've never done it before" I basically whispered the last part taking a quick hit of my pipe "really?" Duncan asked in disbelief, I nodded my head while taking another hit and blowing the other out. As I passed back the pipe Duncan got a mischievous smile on his face "yes?" I asked curious of what he was thinking, he turned to me "do you wanna?" I froze not getting what he was asking "what?" I asked very confused, he laughed "do you wanna shotgun this last hit with me?" Blushing I took a deep breath "sure" I turned to him and saw he also had a red tint to his cheeks, he took the hit then looked at me I nodded my head signaling I'm ready. We slowly leaned in as our lips touched, I started sucking in all the smoke from his lungs but something wasn't right. After I sucked in all the smoke I pulled away as fast as I could blowing it out "you ok?" Duncan asked but the truth was I wasn't fine at all. Since I'm a werewolf I get a °mate° and a °mate° is the one person who we find, and once when we find them you have to °mate° or have sex with them within 3 days or else the female goes into heat and when you go in heat you feel like you're being burned at the stake, males and females can tell if it's your mate because you feel sparks every time you two touch. The problem was up until me and Duncan kissed I never realized he's my mate "I- I gotta go" I said grabbing all my stuff and walking away "hey, wait" Duncan called after me but I didn't listen instead I shifted to my wolf form, jumped off the roof and ran home once I got there I made sure my sister was asleep. I slipped into my bedroom slowly slipping out of my clothes I put on purple boy shorts and a red tank top, I layed in my bed slowly crying "what if he rejects me and breaks my heart, what if he thinks I'm nuts?!" I quietly sobbed to myself so my sister wouldn't wake up. I stayed in that same spot sobbing until I felt darkness consume me.
