It was a dark stormy night. It was just me in the house that night. Down the hall I heard a strange noise. I look out the bathroom to see what it was. I had seen nothing. So I closed the door. As I was getting ready to go to bed. I heard the noise again, so I looked to see if someone was there, to my surprise nothing was there at all. So I finished getting ready and I head down the hall to the living room to relax before going to bed. I was sitting on the couch and I heard the noise again. I turned around to see if I could see anything. I saw nothing. At this point in time the little storm grew into a bigger storm. At midnight, I was startled by a large flash of lightning. Our pet cat Lucy ran from my room and jumped into my lap. The storm grew louder as time goes on.
At 2 in the morning, I turned off the television and went to bed. As I was laying in bed, I heard the same noise. I get out of bed to see what it was, this time I saw something. It was my friend Anastasia. She let herself in while I was taking a shower. Anastasia came over because she got kicked out of her house. "Hi Ana, how are you?," I said.
"Not good Elizabeth, I got into a fight with my folks and they kicked me out for good this time. They told me that tomorrow I can come back to get my stuff and then leave afterwards. Liz can I live here with you? I have nowhere to go. ," said Anastasia.
"Sure thing Ana, I'll call my parents and let them know.," I said.
Ana and I stayed up most of the night just talking. We didn't fall asleep till 4 in the morning. We ended up waking up at 7 in the morning. I ended up making breakfast for us. We ate some pancakes, sausage links, toast with jam and a glass of orange juice. After breakfast, we went to Ana's house to get her stuff. We got done packing her belongings and went back to my house and unpacked.
Later that evening my parents have arrived home from their anniversary vacation. I had explained everything in person to my parents. My parents understood and said, " Ana you are more than welcome to stay here with us. And we'll let you stay in the guest room right down the hall from Elizabeth's room. Ana know that we are here for you. And we love you as one of our own."
"Thank you so much Mr. and Mrs. Sanchez," said Ana.
