What happens to us after death?

Have you ever thought of this question? Maybe you have, that's why you're here, reading this. Like all the people in this world, you want answers. Have you satisfied yourself with an answer?

Most of us will say heaven; or reincarnation. The moment Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, we are all sentenced to death. But I would not like to answer this question in relation to religion.

We would like to explain certain things in a way our minds could understand. But the truth is, we all fear oblivion. We don't want to be forgotten. We can't accept that there is a possibility that life after death is just plain "nothing". We would like to believe that we would not diminish in this world. That somehow, there is life after death. We do not like to think that we would all become nothing. All black. Just not exist.

You can't even remember the time before you got here. What makes you think that you would remember anything after death? How many years would it be before no one remembers you? That no one would know that you ever existed.

I am not trying to say that the things I am saying are true. We all can think what we would like to think. I would lie if I tell you I didn't think of a life after death. What could be the most possible thing after we die?

I've thought of our dreams. What if death is like dreaming forever, never waking up? I believe that our dreams contain our hearts desires. What if in death you could control your dream. Maybe that's why they call it heaven. Everything happens in accord to your heart's desires.

A parallel universe maybe, where there are people who are like us, a different version of us. What if we are already living another person's life without knowing it?

Do you believe that déjà vu means that you are in the right path, exactly where your fate wanted you to be? Or do you believe that you have been there before, just not in that lifetime. Well, I think you can believe what you want to.

It's a chain reaction. Every decision you make affects the others, maybe not just your fate but also other people's. What if the choices you make results a death of another? A simple choice and yet a big consequence.

I'm just thinking that if there's really reincarnation, why can't we remember anything? Why do we remember this certain life? Why not the others? Who would I be next? I can't imagine being another person.

Our souls are energies. According to science, energy is neither created nor destroyed. Does that suggest that we're all going to be a ghost, a lost soul perhaps? Or our energies would be transferred into another body and start living a new life without remembering the past?

The mere fact that we are trying to answer this question is desperate. People do not like uncertainty. People are afraid of death because they do not want something that they do not understand. We are all going. It is inevitable and inexplicable.

There are certain things that we couldn't cross. Some things are not ours to tamper with. Some things are God's.

But the question still remains and would be forever unanswered. The question is how you would like to explain it. What happens to us after death?
