"Jeonghan is back early!"
Jedidiah's expression shifted from jealous to nervous very quickly. I'd be nervous too if my boyfriend walked in on me getting jealous over somebody else.
"Hey Hannie." I said as he walked over to us. He gave me a side hug and kissed my head.
"Hey Anna. Did you miss the 1004?" He asked teasingly.
"What is there to miss?" I replied just as playfully. He then pretended that he got shot and we both started laughing. He then went over to Jedidiah and kissed her passionately. I just kept smiling as if it didn't bother me and even let out a small "aw" for dramatic effect. If only Joshua was able to do the same. He didn't really strike me as the jealous type but his episode from earlier was starting to give me second thoughts. He politely passed the girls who surrounded him and made his way over. Well this might get messy. Joshua stood in front of Jeonghan and held his hand out.
"You must be Jeonghan. Nice to meet you I'm Joshua." Jeonghan gave him an odd look but shook his hand anyway.
"So, what do you want?" Only God knows how thing would have went after that if Jedidiah hadn't stepped in. Jeonghan put a possessive hand around her waist but she quickly slid her way out. I saw the hurt in Hannie's eyes and it broke my heart to watch. Jedidiah tried to play it off after that by casually playing along with the conversation.
"Joshua Hong. He's the new guy in my tutor."
Joshua gave a smile but it wasn't a kind one. Jeonghan who obviously saw through Joshua's facade decided to give a smirk just as devious. Jedidiah who was ignorant of the indirect war going on gave a weak smile. Jeonghan was just about to speak again but thankfully we were saved by the bell. We all went to our next classes mine with Joshua but not Jedidiah.
I sat down in Home economics and Joshua sat beside me. You could tell that his growing hate for Jeonghan was still present and personally I didn't really want to deal with it for the next 40 or so minutes.
"Since when." he finally managed to croak out after he had visibly calmed himself down.
"Since when what?" I asked back. He wasn't being clear enough.
"Since when have those two been going out.?" The question didn't really come to me as a shock. I have expected him to bring them up sooner or later.
"Since second year. Jeonghan moved here one day just like you. All the girls wanted him but him and Jedidiah just clicked." Joshua's face instantly became downcast. In my heart I felt bad for what I was doing but I wasn't going to let him be the reason that those two broke up. If Jedidiah doesn't like Jeonghan fair enough, she can tell him that to his face in her own time but no one is going to break those two up on my watch. I would have done it years ago myself
"Joshua you seem like a really nice guy and everything but just know that getting on the wrong side of that relationship is like getting on the wrong side and of me and you don't want to do that. Trust me."
With that I took out my books and finally tuned in to class. From the corner of my eye I could see Joshua with his head down and his hands on his knees clenching his grey trousers. He looked really hurt but at the end of the day that's not my problem. I pushed my guilty conscious to the back of my mind and continued what I was doing. If Joshua Hong thought he was going to come into my school and ruin a relationship I've gone lengths to protect then he's got another thing coming.
