Pity party

Mercury sat with Emerald and Cinder. Sighing bored.
"So what is the use for them if we don't need all four? Just that little girl?" Emerald asked
"Who you mean Lilith?" Mercury replied.
"Ya, hot headed, anger issues... She already broke a table over some member's head.. Who knew a child was capable of that." Emerald replied.
"She's not." Cinder replied softly. "She is carrying more or less a demon. One who is keeping her alive at least from what i know. As i have tested her heart is very weak. But with this.. Demon. She is able to work and function like a normal person. But with a..... bit more power." She sighed. "Getting it out of her didn't quiet work, but she is willing to work under us. Which i like, very much. The only question is. How long in tell she break's down on us."
"Is there a way to keep her going? Maybe to i don't know moving, keeping that power controlled?" Mercury asked.
"We may have found a way. What we will be trying is a dust infusion." Cinder replied as Roman walked in.
"Finally she's asleep! What i miss?" He asked smoking.
"Dust infusion?" Mercury and Emerald asked looking at each other.
"How does that work?" Emerald asked.
"It's a simple process.... however sense no one has ever been tested on the result's are well unknown." Cinder replied. "For all we know it could possibly kill her."
"Then do a small dose at first. how old is she anyways?" Emerald asked.
"It's hard to say. Her real age is ten from what i know. However the age's combine when Shadow is with. I believe she is sixteen with Shadow."
"Explain Shadow, a demon right? So is she like part Grimm?" Mercury asked his 'feet' on the table.
"No Shadow is...different." Cinder put her hand's together and sighed. "I believe this is enough talking for now. You are dismissed."
Mercury stood up stretching as Emerald sighed.
"So she's asleep?" Mercury asked Roman.
"Should be... give's us enough damn trouble breaking shit.." He replied.
"I'm gonna check in on her...." Mercury replied as he walked out.
Opening another door his head peaking in to sew for a sleeping child.
Instead he found her just polishing her sniper yawning softly.
"Didn't Roman put you to bed?" He asked walking in.
"Do you think i will really sleep cause a 'adult' said i had to?" She replied.
"Still a kid still need sleep." He snapped.
"A kid with no parent's who people think she's helpless and doomed from a sickness that could permanently leave her in a bed while she is dying." She snapped back.
"Listen here! Your not the only one with no parent's!" He replied.
"Oh i'm sorry, did i hurt you?" She asked giving him a death stare. "If not i will physically."
Mercury held his hand's up.
"Your not the only one without parent's Lilith." He replied.
Lilith looked at him confused.
"Who else....?" She asked.
Sighing he sat on the edge of the bed.
"Lay down and i'll tell ya a story." He said with a weird sad smile. He felt hurt when he had to bring up memories he didn't like.
Lilith did as she was told laying back down as Mercury put her sniper away and tucked her in.
"Well.... My father was a drunk asshole..abusive and hurtful.. He killed my mother... Burnt the house down. I barely getting out alive. Then i killed him. To me... It was kill or be killed."
"Oh..., i didn't know..., sorry." She whispered.
He smiled and patted her head.
"Its okay." He whispered "get some sleep. Okay?" He asked tucking her in.
There was a hint of blush on her face. Smiling as he watched her fall asleep. Taking the chair next to her sleeping as well.
