Sam's POV

Taylor sat there crying.  Jenna had passed out...so she hadn't seen the horrible sight.

Max was lying there dead. He was my best friend...Max wasn't even his real name. His real name was Davey. I was the only one who knew that. We had a closer bond than anyone had known.

I didn't want to cry because it would cause Taylor more pain. It hurt to look at him...bleeding out. It might seem selfish of me to say this, but other than a best friend...Max was a witness. A witness for all the torture that was done to us.

Jenna had been stabbed and has broken ribs.
I'm almost positive that I broke my leg and carrying a girl doesn't help much.
For Taylor...anyone hates to see her in pain. She is just so sweet and seeing her mentally hurt is painful.

These people have scarred us...we'll be scared of our own shadows when we walk out of here.

"I give up."

That was the first thing that Taylor had said since Max's death.

It's not normal...for this many people to die in one day.

"I know," I whispered.

Jenna woke up with a gasp.

"Hey Jen. Feel any better?" I asked.
"I feel fine."

Taylor and I didn't believe her but we acted like we did.

"Where'd max g..." Jenna started to say but saw his body. "Oh my god...no!"

"Don't freak out. You'll scare Taylor." I whispered to her.

She nodded and told me that she was taking a walk.

I heard her cries through the corridor.

I told Taylor that I was going to look for her and she agreed that I should.

"Jen!"
I couldn't find her.

I saw Gracie cornering Jenna with a knife to her neck.

"KILL ME INSTEAD!" I shouted to Gracie.

Jenna's eyes widened while Gracie walked towards me. I'm surprised she was willing instead of being stubborn.

"PLEASE DON'T KILL HIM!" Jenna begged.

I'd rather myself die rather than Jenna. I was surprised that Gracie was willing instead of being stubborn.

Gracie had a gun held to my temple...ready to pull the trigger. I wasn't the one who was killed. Taylor ran in front of me...taking her life for mine.

"NO!" I shouted while tears welled up in my eyes.

Jenna stood in awe. No movement. Nothing.

"JENNA IM SO SORRY. IT WAS ALL MY FAULT!" I shouted.

"It wasn't you. It was her. She's done enough damage!" She said angrily.

"Now it's down to you guys. Who's the stronger one...the boy or the girl?"

"Him," Jenna said.

She knew exactly what she was doing. She knew that Gracie would go after her if she was weaker.

I, on the other hand, had formulated a plan and she got the memo. There was a knife in the corner near Jenna. There was a gun about a mile away from me. Jenna would intimidate Gracie while I ran to get the gun. Jenna would threaten her so that Gracie turned around so I could shoot her in the leg. We didn't plan on killing her. Just weakening her and then calling the cops.

I was running to get the gun while Jenna threatened her.

I had an issue...the gun wasn't loaded.

I gave Jenna a misleading look and she threw me the knife.

Gracie looked bewildered and nervous.

"Don't kill me. Please!" Gracie begged.

I got the knife and cut her leg easily to stall her. Jenna grabbed her phone and the cops said they were coming as soon as possible.

The cops arrived with medics so that they could help with the wound I put on her leg.

The cops were pleased that we didn't kill her and did the right thing.

"You kids are free to leave. Gracie will be locked up in no time. Also, I'm very sorry for your losses," the cop said.

"Thank you sir," Jenna said.

I saw the pain in her eyes.

"We were betrayed by Tianna and Max. Tyler and Taylor are gone. I never told you, but Tyler is my cousin."

I stopped in my tracks and turned around and starred at Jenna with weakness showing.

"Jen..."
"Don't. Maybe it was there time. It's just weird to think that the place you met them, they died here too."
"Yeah. It's horrible."

We walked out of the school...that's when I saw ghosts of everyone who died.

"Do you see them?" I asked Jenna while putting my sweaty palm on her shoulder.

"If you do. What's going on?" She asked nervously.

"I don't know, but nobody can know about this...nobody!" I said.

"I understand. It's a big thing and nobody will believe us anyway."

"Hey guys!" Our Ghost friends shouted.

"Don't say hi. Don't make it obvious. Actually try it. See if they hear!" I said.

"Hi..." Jenna said while hiding behind me.

"HEY!" Tyler shouted.

"OMG. YAY!" I screamed.

"Looks like life isn't so bad!" Jenna said while looking at me.

"Yep!"
