"Oh... Jeez," Zach exclaimed, as he sat down in front of his laptop screen.
"I'm finally finished my homework... Now I can finally re--"
"ZACH! COME DOWN HERE!"
Zach's happiness quickly diminishes and he groans in frustration.
"I coming down dad!" And with those words he gets up and jumps downstairs to meet his father, who is at the stove preparing dinner.
"Help set the table. There's going to be salad, so put out salad dressings."
Zach groans, annoyed with what he had to do. But that was his life, and life has thrown him a curveball.
Zach lives in a big two story house with a basement, a home that he recently moved into a couple months ago. Despite the big wide open spaces of his home, Zach has had a love-hate relationship of his surroundings. Zach yearned to go back in his old home, in his old neighborhood, in his old school. But Zach very well knew that would never happen. Everyday, Zach now lives in a rich community, in a large home, going in a very large school. Although Zach has taken a liking to his new school and new surroundings, he has already grown into boredom. Boredom that has lasted his entire life.
Zach finishes setting the table and decides to saunter back his room. But Zach knows that is a rare thing to get away with.
"Zach, I need you to watch Lois and Ben while I cook."
Zach facepalms himself and groans. He has grown very annoyed with this, watching his 2 year old brother and 5 year old sister when he could be relaxing in his room.
Zach turns to his father. "Why can't you watch them? They're literally just in the living room and you can see them ri--"
"Don't start with me Zach," Zach's father quietly snaps, "I'm in charge here."
"Oh come on!"
"All you do is relax in your freaking bedroom. Why can't you do something productive? Where's your college personal statement? Why cant you work on your goddamn college application?"
Zach knew why he didn't want to work on the college application. He didn't want to do it. Despite knowing how important it is to get a degree and get a good job, Zach wasn't comfortable to do it. He would rather do what he usually did: make art, music, and stories. Zach do anything and everything and he knows it, his real mother has told him before. But Zach couldn't say that. He knows his dad wouldn't understand. So Zach did what he knew best: stay silent.
Later that night, when stars light the sky, Zach comes back to his room wearing his bed clothing, and plops down on his swivel chair. Now sitting in front of his laptop, Zach begins nightly rountine: doing whatever he wanted. It felt good to finally relax for a moment and enjoy his internet; however, tonight was different: instead of staying on the laptop for as long as he wanted, he went on to shut it down before he laid himself on his bed. Zach started feeling a complex of emotions and remembering all of his memories within a matter of seconds. Usually Zach would pass it as a normality, since he knew what he was like. But tonight, Zach was feeling bothered and worried. He couldn't understand why.
"Something wrong Zach?" A voice says in his head.
Zach replies, "No... Well... I don't know Tails."
Tails sighs. "Well tell me... What's on your mind?"
"What's usually on my mind..."
"And?"
Zach groans. "I have lived my reincarnated life for 17 years; My previous life, maybe greater. I know that I have powers, but my freaking seal keeps most of it away from me. I know that I have darkness, something that I usually don't want to talk about..." Zach stops talking and sighs.
Tails insists. "Continue, please."
Zach takes a deep breath and speaks again, "I know that I have two Omni spirits, you and me. I could keep going on."
"I know Zach. But there's something that you want to say... I want to hear it."
Zach chuckles a little. "Well... I don't have a girlfriend. I don't have someone to love. And..."
Zach looks down from his bed. "I'm tired of living this way. I want to get out of here. But I don't know how."
Tails replies. "I know..."
"I mean it Tails. I want out. I have been scared and wanted to kill myself for being here. I just... I just..."
Zach pulls his bed covers over his body. "I just wish I was my real self again."
