Who's That?

January 14th
I wake up to the alarm on my phone ringing throughout my room. I quickly turn it off and start getting ready for another day of school, slipping on some pants and my PINK hoodie. I walk into the bathroom where I brush my teeth and tie my long blonde hair into a high ponytail. I run downstairs where my mom was making some kind of protein shake.
"Addie I'm gonna need you to eat something before we leave honey you look tired" my mom says drinking her stupid protein drink. "Whatever mom" I say sitting at the table, reaching for an apple. I check my Instagram, scrolling through everyone's posts and liking some before my mom calls me to get in the car so she can drop me off at school.
My mom and I make small talk on the way there. When finally there, I jump out of the car and head towards the school entrance.
"Addie!" I hear my best friends Claire and Madison say from down the hall.
"Guys please don't jump on me I'm in such a bad mood" I say
"Is it because Michael Jamenson didn't end up kissing you at the winter dance?" Claire says teasing me
"You already know the issue Claire I'm just not ready to have my first kiss yet" I say half whining "I want it to be special and with someone I love dearly"
"I mean I guess" Madison says
The bell rings and everyone rushes to their first period class. I walk into ms. Cruz' class, which is language arts. The bell rings for class to start which begins a class discussion about some novel.
"But miss Cruz the author pointed out a whole differ...." Some boy named Gabe gets interrupted by the class room door opening.
"Is this miss Cruz' room" a girl with long brown hair says shyly as she closes the door behind her.
"Yes! Welcome to my class. You must be Eve. Have a seat next to Addison" miss Cruz says as she points to the empty seat next to me.
As Eve walked over to the seat there were whistles and laughter erupting from all around the classroom, probably from boys. She then got to the seat next to me, putting down her bag.
"Hi" she said smiling at me
"Hey" I said looking down at my phone. I didn't feel like having a conversation with this girl.
"Bad morning?" She says curious
"No, why?" I say looking up at her.
"Because.... I wanted to see if someone else was feeling the same way as me, I guess not." She says taking out her journal to take notes.
I giggle. "Well I mean I'd rather be in bed sleeping"
"Don't we all?" She says as we start chuckling, trying to keep quiet before miss Cruz hears us. Maybe having a conversation wasn't so bad. She seems so chill.
After school
"Who's that?" Maddison says pointing to Eve opening her locker as we walk out of our last period class
"Oh that's eve, she's cool" I say walking over to her, leaving Maddison
"Hey" she says smiling at me
"Hey what are you doing after school today?" I say hoping she isn't busy. I mean don't get me wrong, I love Claire and Maddison to death, but they're too much sometimes. Plus she's new and I'd like to get to know her better as a friend.
"I'm gonna go to swim practice.. Maybe we can go catch a movie after or something?" She says getting her jacket out of her locker
"For sure" I say smiling. Yes! I won't have to listen to Maddison or Claire gossip or about how a certain girl looked at them or about how a boy won't kiss them.
