Ezra proceeded to gather his belongings and slide them neatly into their designated spots within his backpack. The rest of the cast and crew were wrapping up as well, aside from Majer.
Majer had had an away game for football and therefor couldn't attend the afternoon play practice. Ezra noticed quickly just how weird it was without him there.
He glanced up as he heard someone approaching him.
"So, I'm having a small get-together for the Snow White cast. And, since that obviously includes you, I was hoping you'd come." She explained quickly, tapping her fingers nervously against her leg and rocking on her heels.
Ezra noticed that the girl speaking was his understudy. Her name was Karen... Or was it Karrie? Or Kristen? Anyway, she was a cute girl; sweet smile, defined nose, and big green doe eyes. Her hair was honey-colored and ran down to the small of her back in sinuous strands.
Ezra opened his mouth to politely reject the invitation, but Karen (or Karrie or Kristen) cut him to the chase.
"It's nothing huge. Just a house party. I mean, I've heard you don't love big parties. And there's a pool at my house as well. You were on the swim team, right?"
Ezra nodded, faking a laugh to ease the pressure being placed on him. She seemed unusually eager for him to come to her party and it weirded him out slightly. As if she had been studying him.
"Sure," he answered, defeated. "I'll see if I can stop by."
The girl squealed with delight, then apologized once she finished, to ensure she wouldn't scare him away.
With that, the two exchanged contact information and an awkward parting hug which, for the record, Ezra did not consent to.
From the contact she had typed into his phone, Ezra learned that her name was actually Kiersten. Whoops.
He texted the party information to Majer, whom Ezra assumed would be down to party whenever and wherever, considering his notorious title. Ezra tried not to condone the stereotypes pinned to Majer, but he couldn't help it.
Plus, Ezra didn't know anybody else in the crew as well as he had been getting to know Majer over the past couple of weeks.
Ezra hated parties, for his own reasons, which he preferred not to explain to others.
Majer replied almost immediately with an eager "yes," followed by a couple emojis.
Ezra snorted aloud, though deep down he was overly grateful.

"So, there's this small party that this girl is throwing. My understudy, actually. It's this weekend and-
Faith gasped, dropping the pair of Star Wars boxers she had been folding and staring up at her son. "You," she said carefully, "were invited to a real party?"
"Yeah. Not even the fake kind. A real party."
Ezra rolled his eyes at her incredulous reaction. Was it honestly so unbelievable? Ezra thought about it for a moment himself and realized... Yeah, it was.
"Then please. Please go to this social gathering." She pleaded. "You spend way too much time with your mom."
"I'm picking Majer up Saturday night." Ezra continued, ignoring her offensive comment. "We figured carpooling was more efficient." And by that, Ezra meant that Majer needed a designated driver so that he could get drunk off his ass and be delivered home safely. But that's not the type of thing people mention to their parents, no matter how lenient Faith was with her son.
