The interior of the main office consisted of the The receptionist desk, thick squishy looking chairs, tables with multicolored papers on them. In one of the comfy chairs sat a boy with sleek black hair and skinny glasses. He was thin, tall, handsome, a little nerdy, and over all looked intelligent.
He stood as I entered the room to shake my hand and he introduced himself.
"Hey your Katrina right?",he asked.
I nodded yes.
"I'm Manson Allen, your class rep I'll be showing you around."he said
"They told me to expect a pretty girl but your lovelier than I could have expected." he said blushing.
I couldn't decide if he was just trying to be nice or if he genuinely thought I was pretty. After a bit of thought I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. His remark caught me of guard; at my old school guys never said stuff like that to me.
The tour was much more detailed then the one I took with my parents a month ago. I got to see the library, the class rooms, the theater, and the cafeteria. The school was even nicer then my old private school. We ended the tour at the dorms.
"Of course you won't have to attend any classes you can just get unpacked and comfortable.", he said.
"And um if you want give me a call and we can get some coffee" he added giving me a small piece of paper with his number on it.
"I'm sure I will" I said with a wink and backed into my dorm.
"Did I just flirt on my first day?" I thought "I'm gonna like this school.".
I unpacked my clothes into the heavy wooden drawers. I looked at the second queen on the far side of the room. I had momentarily forgotten that I had a room mate.
As I continued to unpack I wondered what my room mate would look like, if we would be good friends, what kind of music she listened and what musical career she was pursuing. When the door swung open I knew all my questions would be answered.
A tall girl with black hair with blue high lights walked in smoothly. She seemed like a casual, relaxed person.
"Hey. Your Katrina right? Name's Mariana but you should call Mar." She said warmly.
"It's nice to meet you. I hope the rest of the people here are as welcoming as you." I said grinning
"Well not to scare you or anything but some of the girls here are real divas. But I think you can handle it you seem like someone that avoids drama."
Honestly this made me a little nervous but there was drama at my old school. That nervous feeling left me; I was ready for this fresh start and ready to make new friends.
