Chapter 2: Serving her friends, Carnell, & his girlfriend

"Hey, Katalina, we've got some more customers, and they're yours," said a girl. "How many?" said Katalina. "Between 10 and 15," said the girl and Katalina went out to the front. While she was taking orders from her customers, Carnell Breeding, and his new girlfriend, Karina Pasian walked in. "Here you go, enjoy your food," said Katalina. "Thank you, Katalina," said a woman and gave her a $1200 tip. Katalina took it from her and put it in her jeans' pocket. "You're welcome," said Katalina and walked away. Carnell and Karina walked towards the counter and Katalina put her customers' money in the cash register. "Hey, Donna, I need some help out here, we've got more customers comin'," said Katalina and walked away from the register. "Okay, do you got their orders with you?" said a girl and Katalina gave her three sheets of paper. "Yeah, they're in Section 4 Booth #3," said Katalina. "Okay, thanks, Kat, you know, you make the best drinks in the city," said Donna. "Yeah, I know, now, go handle ya business, you need money just, as much as, I need it myself," said Katalina and they gave each other dap. "Hey, can we get some service over here?!" said Karina and Katalina looked at them. A girl named Alexandria walked towards Katalina and got beside her. "You go ahead, and do it, Kat, you know, you want to," said Alexandria and they looked at each other. "Alex, I don't like'em, period, and you know that," said Katalina. "Kat, I know you don't like'em, but they're customers, and you're gonna need to talk to Carnell, sooner or later," said Alexandria. "It's easier for you to say, it's like he's rubbin' it in my face," said Katalina. "He's not rubbin' it in your face, just go over there, take him, and his bitch's order, and you'll be done with it," said Alexandria. "Do I have to deliver their shit to'em?" said Katalina. "No, I'll do it, now, go over there, and handle ya business, girl," said Alexandria and gave Katalina a soft punch on the arm. Katalina walked away and got in front of Carnell and Karina. "May I help you?" said Katalina. "What's your name?" said Karina. "Bitcharella the Fifth, what would you like to order?" said Katalina. "That's a nice name, I would like to order the fish tacos special, a Sex On The Beach cocktail, and an apple pie," said Karina. "I'm sorry, but we only serve sodas, smoothies, and punches at this time," said Katalina. "You guys serve cocktails, shots, martinis, sodas, punches, smoothies, coffees, and teas here, why can't I have a cocktail?" said Karina. "Yes, we serve those kinds of drinks here, but at a certain time," said Katalina. "We'll get a Mango Tango smoothie, I'll get Katalina's Special Sloppy Joes, Katalina's Barbecue-n-Cheese fries, and a banana puddin'," said Carnell. "What size for your meals, and smoothie?" said Katalina. "What size don't you serve'em in?" said Karina getting smart and angry. "The bitch size," said Katalina. "Funny, no wonder they call you Bitcharella," said Karina. "That doesn't make any sense, Tricka, and my real name's Katalina, you're the Bitcharella, you need to learn how sarcasm sounds like, bitch, you got anything else to say to me, say somethin' smart to me, I dare you to..., I thought so," said Katalina. "Go find us a seat," said Carnell. "Okay, babe," said Karina and gave him a long kiss. She looked at Katalina while she was doing it and walked away. "How much?" said Carnell. "$25.95," said Katalina. "The prices went up high, I see," said Carnell giving her the money and she took it from him. She put it in the cash register and closed it. "Don't leave me no fuckin' tip, it'll just be wastin' my time," said Katalina and walked away. She started fixing their order and Carnell watched her. He left an envelope with 10 grand in it and a note beside it. "You can't run from me forever, Kat," said Carnell while she was making the smoothie and walked away. He sat down in front of Karina and Katalina rolled her eyes. "Alex, I need your help out here," said Katalina and Alexandria got beside her. "Yeah, what's up?" said Alexandria. "Here's their order," said Katalina giving her the two trays of food and smoothies on them and Alexandria took them from her. "Thank you, oh, and you've got mail," said Alexandria and walked away. Katalina walked towards the envelope and note. Katalina's friends walked in and sat down at the counter. Tyisha, Evonne Hunnicutt, and Elizabeth Hunnicutt gave her a hug each while Patrick Breeding, Bryan Breeding, and Dustin Breeding gave her a hug and a kiss on the cheek each. "So, what can I get you guys?" said Katalina. "An order of you?" said Dustin flirting with her. "Sorry, Dustin, I'm not edible," said Katalina. "Girl, yes, you are, give a nigga some time in a room with ya, I'll be eatin' ya out, you wouldn't even wanna come to work the next day," said Dustin. "Boy, you is just too nasty," said Katalina. "That makes both of us," said Bryan. "Bryan, don't be like ya brotha," said Katalina. "I already am," said Bryan. "For real, what do you guys wanna order?" said Katalina. "Just give us the original that we always order," said Tyisha. "You got it," said Katalina and started making their orders. She gave them their orders and looked at Carnell and Karina. "You okay, Kat?" said Evonne. "Yeah, I just had to take Carnell and his bitch's order, she's definitely askin' for it," said Katalina. "Hey, Kat, don't even sweat it, all she's tryna do is get under your skin, everybody knows that you went out with Carnell," said Elizabeth. "Oh, that's easy for you to say, Liz, your exes never tried to rub it in your face, you beat'em to the punch before they could even see it comin'," said Katalina. "Well, you're right about that," said Elizabeth half-laughing. "So, what's the deal with Father Mercer's death, did they find his killer, yet?" said Katalina. "No, not yet," said Tyisha. "Authorities say that there wasn't a trace of the killer, it's like he disappeared into thin air or somethin'," said Bryan. "But they left a four-leaf clover behind, and the claw marks were terrible, it looks like some supernatural creature from another world killed him," said Dustin and Katalina lifted her shirt up halfway. There were three leprechaun claw marks on both sides of her stomach and a four-leaf clover tatted beside them. "Did the claw marks look like these?" said Katalina and they looked at the claw marks and four-leaf clover tattooes. "Yeah, Kat, how did that happen to you?" said Patrick and Katalina put her shirt down. "I don't know, I went into the bathroom, earlier, before I started workin', and I saw these things on me, they just appeared up outta nowhere, you don't think that there's some kinda superstitious creature here in NYC--, aahh," said Katalina and put her hand on the left side of her face. They saw green light coming from between her fingers and blood was on her hand. She panted heavily and took her hand from the side of her face. She looked at her bloody hand and began to look sleepy. Alexandria and Donna got beside her. "Kat, are you okay?" said Alexandria and they saw her bloody hand. "Oh my God, come with me," said Donna and grabbed Katalina's wrist. They ran to the back and Donna cut the sink on. Katalina put her bloody hand under the water and watched the water rinse it off. Alexandria got beside Katalina and they didn't see any wounds on her hand. Donna cut the sink off and Katalina dried her hand off. "That's weird, there's no wounds, no cuts, no bruises, no nothin'," said Alexandria. "Um, can I get off of work early, today, please?" said Katalina. "Yeah, sure," said Donna. "Okay," said Katalina and walked away before they could say anything else. Katalina got in front of her friends and 6 claw marks went through a large four-leaf clover tattoo that had appeared on her face along with the claw marks. Her friends saw it happened. "Carnell left you somethin', Eve, here," said Katalina giving her the note and envelope full of money and Evonne took it from her. "No, he gave it to you, Kat, your name's imprinted on both of'em," said Evonne giving them back to her and Katalina took them from her. "Right," said Katalina. "Listen, we're gonna have a barbecue in the park startin', right now, the boys are gonna go get the food, and drinks, while we get ready to cook, so, come on, Kat," said Elizabeth and Carnell was watching them. Karina had left to go to the bathroom. "There's somethin' on my face, isn't there?" said Katalina. "Yeah, and it's not gonna come off," said Tyisha. "Yeah, well, St. Patrick's Day isn't here, it's passed, and I don't understand why I've got four-leaf clover tattooes on my body, now," said Katalina. "We'll talk about that later on whenever we go to the park," said Evonne and they began to leave the diner. Bryan looked at Carnell and they looked at each other. "The park, barbecue, it's goin' down," said Bryan mouthing to him. "Got it," said Carnell mouthing to him and the others left the diner with Bryan tagging along behind them.
