Much love <3
It feels like just yesterday I started my senior year, and yet here I am, graduating. The ceremony was nearly over, and I could never be anxious to leave; to finally be done with High School. I smiled softly at my mother, as I spotted her amongst the crowd, taking pictures of her first child to graduate. My younger brothers blonde hair fell in front of his blue eyes and he made a silly face at me as the ceremony ended. He was the mirror image of our father, who was long gone by this point.
I left the building and met my family outside, not wanting to stand in the middle of chaos. I slide my robe off, revealing my knee high black dress and patterned tights. I pulled my hair loose of its messy bun, revealing my long brown wavy hair. We were going out to dinner as a family so I wanted to look my best. I pulled out my compact mirror, checking my make up. Everything was fine, except I needed to reaply some eye liner underneath my hazel eyes. I looked quite a bit like my mother, if my hair was shorter and several shades darker.
Out of the corner of my vision I saw a very handsome man looking over at me. I felt my cheeks flush as I put my mirror away and smiled politely. I heard him chuckle as he walked closer to me. “Going somewhere special? I suppose it’s only fitting for the occasion.”
I bite my lip, he had a slight accent to his voice. “Going out with my mom and brother.” I said. “Are you from around here?” I asked. This town was pretty small, so a new face was very rare.
He stood in front of me now, leaning against the wall. He grinned at me and I felt my cheeks heat up again. The stranger had quite dark hair, and I couldn't quite what color his eyes were. He held his hand out to me. “Names’ Dante. I just moved here.” I cautiously took his hand. “Fawn.” I said shortly. He took my hand and placed a kiss on my wrist. I was tempted to pull away, but it was a harmless gesture.
“A beautiful name for a beautiful girl.” He said. I was completely caught off guard. “T-thank you, Dante.” I bite my lip, looking away. “I should go, my mom will be looking for me soon.”
He smiled sweetly and slipped me a piece of paper. “I’d like to meet again.” He said. And just like that, he released my hand and disappeared into the darkness. “As would I..” I whispered as I put the paper into my purse.
I saw the women who gave birth to me run up quickly, pulling me into a hug. “I’m so proud of you.” She said through tears of joy. I rolled my eyes.. “Just wait until Logan here graduates mom, you’ll be a mess.” I laughed.
Logan gave me another face before we headed to our moms’ car, finally getting something to eat.
When the night was over I crawled into my bed, thinking about that strange man. 'Would I be seeing more of him?'
Part of me really hoped I would, another part of me, not so much.
