Chapter 1
The man with a belt, hat, and green shirt. looked at the paper. This was the guy he had to take out? He studied the poster, the name read “Laggy Blazko”, it was a man with a gray helmet, red eyes, and a dark green jacket. He remembered seeing his name in the paper. Except it wasn't for anything like this. The man was credited for taking out some threats around a decade ago. But why was he in the paper now? He turned to the man who handed him the paper.
“Why is this guy wanted all of a sudden? Wasn't he a hero?” asked the man with the belt.
“One day he just lost his mind, started killing his own comrades.” the man behind the counter responded.
“Do you know where I can find this guy?”
“Last he's been seen was at the Fireball Deathmatch. I'm guessing you want to go out and fight him. Just try to be careful Seza.”
“I'll do my best.” the man replied as he walked out the door.
Seza made his way towards the area he was told Laggy would be. Fireball Deathmatch. An area with many pits, that somehow lead to other pits, lava, and many staircases to climb to higher areas. Seza looked around and saw a man leaning against a wall. Seza compared the picture, and they both were wearing the same outfit. This was Laggy. Seza walked quietly, to not get Laggy's attention, he planted a mine on a wall that was blocking Seza from Laggy's view. He walked back a bit, and set off the mine. The wall exploded, leaving a pile of debris, Laggy quickly got to attention, taking his tommygun out and looking around wildly.
“Someone's here!” Laggy said, “Show yourself! They say we have to kill you!”
Seza walked out of the smoke, a glass bottle in his hand.
“The name's Seza. And I have a bounty to take care of.” Seza said as he threw his glass bottle at Laggy's head. It hit him, and suddenly he was unable to move. Seza took out a short sword and tried to lunge at Laggy, but he broke free of the stun, and jumped right over Seza's head, landing on the ground. Seza took another bottle out, and threw it again, only Laggy jumped into one of the huge pits in the arena, and suddenly appeared on the other side of it. As he started to fire his tommygun, Seza started to run around at lighting fast speed, able to outrun all the bullets from the sub machine gun. Laggy cursed to himself as he took out a small green ball, A “nadeball” as he liked to call it, and he threw it towards Seza's direction, the ball exploded, while it didn't cause any damage, it did slow Seza down, as Laggy started to fire once again at him. Seza quickly fell back to avoid the bullets, something falling out his pocket. Before Seza could notice it, Laggy rushed over and picked it up, it looked like a normal pistol, though when he fired it, it shot out a beam of pure energy. Laggy smirked with his new found weapon.
“I had that?!” Seza muttered as he threw another bottle at Laggy. Laggy quickly ducked and fired the new weapon at Seza, who was able to rush into one of the pits, and like Laggy, end up in a totally different part of the battlefield. Seza realized something, these bottles weren't getting him anywhere, so it was time to take a different approach. Seza started to rush around the arena, placing mines everywhere he could, Laggy did take note of this, as he started to he started to make his way towards a flight of stairs, the part where Seza hasn't got to yet. Seza did get there, and when he did Laggy attacked him with a knife. Seza took out his own sword to counter the knife, and knocked the knife out of Laggy's hands, and onto the floor. Laggy not worrying about this, backed up and started throwing more nadeballs. He threw them everywhere he could, Seza tried to get out of the way, but whenever he would get away from one, another explosion would slow him down. At this point, Laggy who took this to his advantage, fired the energy gun, which made contact directly with Seza's chance. Seza went flying down the stairs onto the ground below. Laggy jumped down after him, picked up his knife on the way and pointed it directly at Seza's throat. Seza was able to get out a bottle and slam it straight against Laggy's head, causing him to fall back onto the ground. Seza took out his sword to finish the bounty, but Laggy threw another nadeball...which made contact with one of the mines that Seza set, suddenly a chain of explosions occurred. The walls cracked, as lava started to slowly seep in. Seza quickly forgot Laggy and started to run of the stairs, Laggy who was not expecting this, followed him. As Seza was running, Laggy took out his tommygun and fired it at Seza. Seza didn't see it coming and fell to the ground. Laggy jumped ahead and landed in front of Seza, he then took out his knife and before Seza could react, stabbed him in the chest, Seza was still alive though, and limped his way up, and took the knife out of his chest, he was able to slice at the energy gun, causing the thing to break, and cause a small explosion, sending both of them back. Laggy was able to pick up the weakened Seza, and throw him over the edge into the pool of lava below. Laggy dusted his jacket up, picked up his remaining weapons, and headed out of the arena. He had listened to the voices again, yet the man did try to kill him first. Though he had to wonder, what was this guy's life was about.
