The Sahara desert, Africa: Egypt

Slowly walking a path of mystery, slowly I carried on . The temperature slowly rising as I walked impatiently but patient with doupt that i would find any shade.
How did I end up here.
I stumbled thoughts upon thoughts.

I began to shiver from the blazing heat.
I lost energy.
The extreme heat got my hopes high when i thought that i was getting closer and closer to water to quench my thirst but it was only a mirage.

It was not only thirst, but also hunger started outpacing the need for water or shade.
Hope is never enough when you are lost in a place you never thought you would go to, especially a place with peaks of mystery.

I had realised that I cannot carry on and cannot stop either so I carried on because I could not busk in the sun like lizards without getting any shade or water afterwards. I was only five steps away from a rock that I could use to lean on and rest.
The dehydration took all of my energy and just when I was about to lay besides the rock I collapsed and fell onto it with my head.

It felt like a dream walking the desert until deliberation made me do what I did. It's hard to believe reality even when it really is.
In the desert everyone is the same no matter how wealth or poor you are.
"I still don't know how I got here".

The breeze of the desert night which was not comparable to severe and extremely hot day woke me up. The minute I woke up after collapsing i realised that i had blood stains on my shirt and a big bump on my head.
I was really in an agonising pain after the fall because the bump had already started swelling. I needed to see a doctor, " But where can you get one in the desert".I had to carry on with my journey because complaining would do me no good.

Before I could commence with the journey I slapped myself to see if im not dreaming.I looked very pale and knew from this moment on that this is not a dream, I had to take advantage of the night to get closer and closer to help or shade.

I kept trying to stand up and walk but I was in pain and hunger.
I knew I couldn't walk anymore so the best alternative was to crawl because it was the only way how. Slowly crawling and leaving trails behind, but who are they for to follow.

If I die here then I guess my body will be buried to rest when the next wind blows the desert sand over me.
The bump I have on my head started swelling badly but it was inadequate.
I knew it would get worse than it was but I had to keep crawling to no one knows where.

My stomach was no longer rumbling, It was roaring like an alpha male lion.
My mouth was dry and my stomach was empty too. I had no option but to eat bugs I hardly ever seen before.
The luck is with desert snakes because they were going to be my trophy meal for the night.
The bugs satisfied my stomach but not my soul.

The only way to survive is to make sure you are not the prey but the hunter. With my hunger put at ease i finally made it to the top of the desert sand where I can let all loose and roll down to the bottom and commence with my journey further on. This was definitely one of the highest points I have ever made it to while crawling and better yet I wouldn't have made it without a doubt if I was walking.

I laid at the top of the desert sand horizontally with my hands in the pockets so that I can be able to catch speed.
As I started rolling down, the speed started to increase enormously  I couldn't stop if I had to.
The speed had me in regret as I was starting to feel bloated and nauseous.

I felt like I was being dragged from a rusty old farm truck by an angry man who caught me with his wife on the sofa holding hands with eyes in contact of each others. Immediately after the roll has stopped I started to hurl a paste made up of the bugs I ate earlier on and thoughts started running so i let my mind do its course.

I started to feel dizzy and very dizzy so I kept thinking that one or some of the bugs might have been venomous. An unpleasant feeling of instant sleep made the desert night to become darker as my vision turned blurry. I fell asleep but the last thing I saw was a shadow of a man walking besides his camel while holding it's saddle.
