My cousins 18th birthday was amazing. We all rented rooms at a hotel and we all we're going to dinner together, we went shopping together for gifts for her. Most of it was make-up stuff and a few checks for living supplies for her moving into her own apartment starting college the next year. Her birthday was really fun. And Saturday that weekend we all were at the hotel partying in the pool room, and we all gathered around the cake to sing happy birthday for her. after we sang happy birthday to her they we're handing out prices of cake and ice cream. And for being a kid surprisingly I didn't like sweets that much. And I asked my dad if I could go to the pool and mess around. At the age of only 5 or 6 when your parents tell you yes you feel like you can do anything in the world. So I decided to get in the pool and see how long I could hold my breath. According to my child brain I lasted 28 seconds. It was probably only about 17 though because every kid counts fast while holding their breath because they want to be the best at it. After I got bored of that i decided to swim along the wall of the pool. Considering im only about 4 and a half feet tall at the time it was one of my first times ever in the deep end of a pool. It went to 8 feet, twice my height. On about my third lap I was getting tired so I decided the next ladder in the 8 foot deep water I was gonna get out. I was probably one of the happiest kids in the pool at that time because there was no one else and i had the whole pool to myself. As I came along the 7 foot marker I could hear my mom yell "Everyone to the jacuzzi for a group photo!" so I thought I had to hurry and when I was within an arms length of the ladder I slipped into the water...and not able to reach or swim.
