Dorian, together with Charles and the other wolves that made up their party, ran full-speed towards the intruders. They all ran right through the high schools grounds, not bothering to hide themselves because they knew the children were inside their classrooms which were on the other side of the building. In a matter of seconds the smell of rogues hit them and not too late after that they were charging at each other full-force.
Snarls, howls, growls, yelps and whisperings could be heard all around the fighting area. Dorian expertly dodged a brown wolf that tried to bite at his front right paw. He came to the wolve's back, that same clawed paw ripping savage cuts to his ribs and hind leg. The wolf yelped in pain and tried to turn around and bite Dorian's neck, but before he could do that, Dorian had already jumped on his back, powerful jaws clamping at the back of his neck; long, razor-sharp canines sinking through fur, skin, flesh and severing his spine with a bit more force. Once the brown wolf lay dead, he turned around to take on another of the intruders, but their twenty five against their fifteen had been overwhelming. Non of them even had scratches. All of their were dead.
They quickly discarded the carcases so that no human would find them by accident, searched the area for any other rogues, and when Dorian was satidfied that no other threat was present, ordered his wolves to head back to their pack house.
This time though, they had to be more careful. All their fighting, discarding of bodies and scouting had cost them more time than expected. Children were now exiting the school grounds, hurrying to get back home. About half of them, on the other hand, were all standing together right besides the woods. This way no humans could see the twenty five huge wolves right behind the first line of trees.
Once the coast was clear Dorian ordered all the children back to the pack house, motioning for Oscar, Sven and their crew to shift and go with them. Someone was going to drive their house for them.
After all the formalities were done with, Dorian was sitting in his office, his mate Ferrah at his left shoulder, Charles at his right shoulder. In front of them stood Oscar with Sven at his right shoulder a little bit behind to show respect and submissiveness. Behind them stood Timothy, Colby, Marge and Mallory. The walls of the office were lined with other older, more experienced and wiser of their pack.
Dorian was looking over the children in front of him, eyes stopping on his son. He stood straight, awaiting whatever his father required of him.
Clearing his throat and leaning back in his seat, Dorian asked" What happened?"
Oscar knew what his father was asking about so he didn't loose time thinking about how unbelievable it sounded, deciding to give him the entire truth. Starting with the first time Alexander had said something he shouldn't know. "At the beginning of the new school year a new student arrived."
"Alexander Pain." said a werewolf, Hue Ells. It didn't surprise Oscar the man knew Alexander's name. It was his job to know who came, passed, stayed, was born and died in their territory. Werewolf or human.
Oscar gave a short nod and continued. "The first time I saw him I tested to see if he was a wolf, but I didn't find anything, so I left the boy alone. He was very quiet, not talking to absolutely anyone. So everybody just left him alone. Then two months later he talked to me. He told me Quentin and his crew were planing an ambush. Or rather an assassination attempt. He said that they had shards of glass dipped into wolvesdeath juice with which to attack us."
At the mention of that deadly poison, every wolf in the room growled and swore. Dorian's eyes became slits and his jaw clenched tightly. Why hadn't his son told him about this?
Oscar waited for the noises to subside and continued. "At first I didn't know what to believe. How could a human know about the juice. No human knows about the wolf. Then I together with Sven, Mallory, Colby, Marge and Timothy decided not to take any chances. So we crept behind Quentin and his, and knocked them out cold. We took all the poisoned shards they had and burned them." He took a big breath of air and exhaled. "I'm sorry Alpha, for not telling you about this incident. But I didn't want to start a full scale war with Quentin's pack. The assassination attempt failed and after the beating they got, non of them bothered us again."
His son stopped talking and Dorian looked at him wordlessly for a couple of minutes. Had he done the corect thing? No. But most certainly the right thing for all he knew. Yes,he should have come to him from the beginning. Still, Oscar had thaught about the the well-being of both his and his friend's pack. Because if it had been any other outcome, he knew blood would have flown.
"What about today?" he asked Oscar.
The boy seemed shocked no punishment would come but quickly composed himself and answered." After that incident we tried talking to him. It's just that he somehow managed to not cross any paths with us. Then, today at lunch break, he of his own free will came to our table and told me I better call you because fifteen werewolves were trespassing on our lands. He called them differently, but I'm sure he knew what they were. Then he was gone. After the things he first told me, I was more inclined to listen to his warning. Wouldn't hurt anyone, even if I still don't trust him. That's it."
Dorian thauhgt about it and it seemed that boy, Alexander had to be braught here and questioned. "Today is Thursday. You six won't go to school tomorrow. Human or whatever that child is, I think he would feel better if there were someone he knew besides him when we interogate him. You won't atend classes, but you will go to school and bring him streight here."
The Alpha voice was plain to hear and everyone nodded.
The next day they did as they were told and went to school. It wasn't that easy to find Alexander and it had taken them more than an hour to do so.The principal knew what they were doing and made sure no professor stopped them. They eventually found Alexander sitting under his tree, even though not minutes before they had checked the same spot and no one was there.
Today he was wearing an all-brown ensemble; autumn-leaf-brown long-sleeved button-up shirt, a pair of earth-brown skinny jeans, mud-brown snickers. His hair was in his usual stile but his ear-rings were now, what could clearly be identified as real bear claws; one for each ear.
About fourteen feet away from him, Alexander stood up and looked straight at them. They exchanged nodded greetings then Oscar said "Alexander, you'll have to come with us. Father wants to talk with you."
Alexander only nodded again and went in the direction of Oscar's car. He stopped right besides the back right door and turned around to face the six friends that were right behind him.
"Lead the way."
