Enchanted

Chapter one

Stephanie's P.O.V

I lie on my bed, broken.

"Steph, are you coming to the funeral?" My mother says to me.

"Yes, I have to," I say.

"All right. Get ready, we're leaving at five," she says.

I sigh and get up. I walk to my closet and get out a black sweater and skirt. I don't care if it doesn't look right, but I'm too sad to care.

I put on my black vans and put my hair down. I brushed it out. My hair is wavy, so I'm good.

I go to the kitchen and sit at the table.

"You're going to be fine, you know that right?" My dad says.

I lie and say "yeah." How could I be fine? It was my fault.

"Good," my dad says.

It was four thirty. We have to leave at five.

Ill be going to a place where a bunch of people are sad and depressed.

Ill be one of them.

"Steph... We're going to a funeral... Go change into something different, it doesn't look right. Go get that black dress in your closet and those black flats," my mom says.

"Fine," I say and walk back to my room.

I do what she says and then walk back to the kitchen.

While at the funeral, my boyfriends friends and family are there.

At the end of the funeral, everyone goes to Bens mom and dad and says the usual, "we're sorry for your loss," or "if you need anything, we're here for you."

My boyfriend Ben, died last week...

It was all my fault.

Why doesn't anyone come up to me and say the usual stuff?

Ben and I were a couple. Were!

One boy comes up to me and says, "I'm Luke... I was a close friend of Bens... I hope you're okay..."

"I'm obviously not okay! Don't you understand! Wouldn't you be depressed if your girlfriend died because of yourself?! Huh!" I say.

"I-I don't have a girlfriend..." Luke says.

"I wonder why!" I say.

I was being rude, but I was sad.

"I'm sorry..." He says and walks away.

Did I hurt his feelings?

No, my feelings are hurt.

My feelings will always be hurt because my boyfriend died.

It was all my fault. All my fault.
