Scarlet heard a bone rattling thud. Her head shot up, banging against the bed frame. She cursed loudly, rubbing her head. She walked over to the window, opening the blinds.
"What the hell?" she exclaimed, bewildered at the enormous spaceship crashed on her farm. She ran outside. The spaceship was filled with buttons, and was mostly black. A guy walked out coughing, grease smudged across his face.
"Where am I?" he asked, a puzzled look on his face. Two girls walked out as well, one with frizzy black hair and one with short blonde hair.
"Flynn, the GPS says this is Wales, England," the blonde girl said.
"What are you doing in my backyard? Why do you have a spaceship? Who are you?" Scarlet asked, running up to them, half angry, half confused.
"I'm Echo," the girl with the blonde hair said. "This is Zaila. And he is-"
"Flynn Carswell. I'm pretty sure I can introduce myself," Flynn said.
"Well, I'm Scarlet, and you still didn't answer my questions. Why are you here?!"
"You tell me, farm girl," Zaila exclaimed, raising her eyebrow. "Our spaceship decided to stop working."
"We are kind of a mini crew," said Flynn, furrowing his eyebrows.
"Real specific, Flynn. What he means is that we are a crew and we are trying to overthrow Queen Ivy. This is our spaceship that crashed when we were heading towards London. Ivy has affected all of our lives in some way. She executed my mother, put Flynn in jail for trying to save his father, and Zaila's sister, Lily, was kidnapped at age nine by one of Ivy's soldiers for no reason at all," explained Echo.
"I tried so save Lily, but was shot in the hand. This hand is a prosthetic," Zaila said, taking off her glove.
"That's terrible!" Scarlet exclaimed. "My father was also killed three months ago. He was trying to beg for mercy when Ivy refused to give my mother medicine, and they publicly executed him the next day. My mother died of ventricular fibrillation shortly after. They could have cured her, but we didn't have enough money."
"I'm sorry. Ivy is pure evil. That's why we have decided to raise an army to kill her," said Flynn. A loud beeping sound started coming from the ship.
"YES! It's working! I thought the crash would kill it completely, but I guess it's tougher than I thought!!" He ran in, and started rearranging the wires.
"So, you've been alone for three months?" Echo asked.
"Ivy tried to send soldiers to find me, but I hid. I've been living off of the plants your huge spaceship just killed." Scarlet said. "I have no idea how I'm going to survive now. I guess I could live off of the half dead corn plants that are left..." She trailed off.
"You could come with us! We have plenty of packaged food on the ship! You would fit right in!" Echo exclaimed, beaming.
"Fit in?! Are you crazy? Farm girl wouldn't survive a day without her precious home grown tomatoes," Zaila said, hands on her hips.
"Come on, Zaila! We could always use another person!" Echo was persuasive. "Flynn! Don't you think Scarlet would be perfect on our crew?"
"Sure, just let me finish," Flynn grumbled, from the inside of the ship.
"I think Zaila might be right. I wouldn't fit in very well. I mean, I just met you guys! I don't even know anything about you," Scarlet said.
"Please? Here, let me tell you stuff about us: my favorite color is green, Flynn's favorite color-" Echo said.
"Ok, ok! I'll join! Jeez," Scarlet interrupted, giving up.
"Come on in! I'm finished!" Flynn yelled.
