It was Thursday and Valentine's day and I was alone. Last night after talking to my sister Reese, I tried to call Liam but he never answered my phone calls or texts so I went to bed disappointed. I got dressed the next morning putting on my school uniform and got my sister up and we went down for breakfast. Maria was there.

"Your parents went away for the night and will be back in the morning but your dad left you two something." Maria said before pulling out some yellow roses for Raye and I. Since we were old enough to know about Vday was about, he always gave us yellow roses telling us that "we brought sunshine into his life." I love my daddy and could always count on him to make me feel better.

After sending love to both of my parents and my sister Reese through texts, we took off to school. Today was going to a shitty day for me. Everyone was going to walking around with all of their Valentine stuff and I'll be empty handed again, maybe I should skip school?

"Are you excited about your date?" I asked Raye. She woke up with a smile this morning and was bouncing in her seat.

"I am. Were going to see a movie and get some takeout and then go for a walk around the lake near the University."

That sounded sweet, "Watch out for the gators." I advised. They were known for walking around in the grass near the lake.

Raye giggled. "We will."

She was still anxious, I noted. I knew my sister well and something was up. Before I could ask we had made it to school and she hopped out of my car and walked in the direction of the freshman hall. I decided to igrnore whatever I was feeling and went to my locker. I noticed the odd looks everyone was throwing my way and when I got to my locker, I realized why. Placed on the top of it was a huge red heart. It was made out of construction paper and looked like something a 5 year old would make in kindergarten. I pulled the heart off and looked at the back of it. My heart stopped. On the back of the heart it had Liam's handwriting and it said:

I love that you're beautiful and most people can see that just by looking at you but not everyone knows that you're intelligent and a nerd. I also love that you rather have your head in a book instead of watching tv. My next heart is located in your favorite place at school.

I was confused, did he plan some type of scavenger hunt? Only one way to find out so I forgot about going to homeroom and ran to the library. When I got there I was breathing hard but I was determined to find Liam's next heart. I walked and saw the librarian looking at me funny. I went to one of the last rows of books, also known as a makeout point and found a bundle of red heart balloons held to the ground by a weight. Under the balloon was another red paper heart.

I love that you love to eat and that you're a greedy lil thing when it comes to food. You're not afraid to stuff your face in front of me like most girls. Since were in different grades I would cherish those 30 minutes I got to share with you each day. My next heart is located there.

The cafeteria? Couldn't be anywhere else so I grabbed my balloons and took off in that direction. I went to the table we would sit at when we were together. I wasn't disappointed. I had chocalate hershey kisses waiting for me with another heart.
