It was a bright sunny evening , the pilgrims , devotees were all happy after getting Dharshan of the deity and all had a satisfactory look because they had expressed their grievances to the almighty.
All of them assembled in the mandap to do the final ritual of chanting the God's name and praise the lord .
The women folk sat on the left wing of the mandap and men occupied the other wing . There was a small elevation above the ground for the Priest to head this session.
The smell of flowers , the sound of flute , the fragrance of incense sticks, the light of lamp , the statue of the deity made everyone feel spiritual.
The prayers were about to begin . There was a old man with a little bubbly girl on his lap . The girl observed the place very keenly.
Grandpa , why are we here ?
We are here to Pray God and Praise him dear.
Oh , why we should praise him ??
Because he is omnipotent - all powerful ; omnipresent - present everywhere ; omniscient - he knows everything .
The girl's eyes widened in surprise . She nodded her head in ecstasy .
The prayer began , all of them sang bhajans , uttered mantras . It was the final part , everyone were ready to observe silence and make a wish to God.
The old man adviced his granddaughter.
My dear , if you have any wish to be fulfilled ask God now he will fulfil it .
Grandpa , you told God knows everything then why should I ask him he knows what I want , there is no logic in pestering him to grant my wish because he knows everything . you only told me that. I will not ask anything.
The old man and the people around were stunned by her words . It was the truth , the creator knows what we need and he will give only what we need.
An woman there warned the little girl.
" Child don't talk about God like that , it may anger him "
" No I have actually praised the Lord , I have acknowledged that he is omniscient by not making wish , he will be happy now . I love God " She smiled showing her milk teeth .
Everyone who heard the words of the child realised the truth . They can wish for anything , but God knows what we really want and will grant it alone at right time , there is no need for asking him to grant our wish .
