Amy's P.O.V

I saw his pale face light up by the autumn's days sun, he was walking slowly towards me with his head bowed down at the dirt path, occasionally glancing up at me with his bright hazel eyes, his short-medium golden hair flittered in the wind. I was waiting for Eric at the front of my house, he was running late. I was just casually sitting on the tire swing waiting as we always walk to school together. Eric was my best friend also they guy I have had a crush on for the past 5 years, but anyways. All the other girls in our year 9 grade at school were too worried about their hair and make-up and I didn't care about those things, although I still straightened my light brown hair each day for school. Eric on the other hand was nothing like that obviously, he was outgoing, but occasionally shy, hilariously funny, loves his music and like me he didn't like school because he didn't fit in with the popular crowd.

Eric caught up with me and we started our long journey to school. As we usually do, we talked and talked and talked.

"How has your Dad been?" I asked Eric.

"He's alright, we are struggling a bit since Mum passed away. Dad got called into work early this morning, so and I had to do Arielle's hair and quickly drop her off at her school. Oh and I am sorry about being late."

"It's okay Eric, I understand. Thing must be more difficult for you at home...Speaking about difficult, did you finish your English essay?"

"What essay?!" Eric replied looking very shocked.

"The essay that is due tomorrow!"

"Um..... I haven't started it yet." Eric rolled his eyes.

"Gosh you're lazy! Lucky we have English today you can do it then, and I will help you. What other subjects do you have today?"

"Geography, Religion, Math... Oh no, not math's!" Eric groaned.

"Janelle is so annoying in math's, she is such a know it all. And the worst part is she likes me. She passed me a love note! And this happened yesterday" Eric whined.

"Jeez Eric, be a bit nicer. I know she likes you, the whole grade knows but she was just dumped by Jake. Her heart's broken, if you tell her you don't like her or even worse tell her you hate her, you will crush Janelle's heart!"

"Yeah, but what am I supposed to do? Pass her love notes too? I don't even like her! Also Jake's my best guy friend." Eric said this with such a distorted look on his face.

"No, but you could be a bit more gentle."

"Well I don't want to be!" Eric yelled.

"Calm down Eric!"

"Don't tell me what to do! You're not my mother!" Eric Broke down into tears and started running away from me.

I struggled to catch up to him. I couldn't keep up, he was just too fast for me. Running was not my strong suit.

"Eric where are you?!" I screamed.

There was no response. I walked for what felt like miles and miles. I started to freak out as I usually do because I couldn't find him. I started to listen as much as I could to see if I could hear footsteps, but I only heard my own footsteps, which were crushing the dead autumn leaves into tiny pieces. I wondered mindlessly looking for Eric. In my head I just cried 'Eric come back! I'm sorry. Just come back!' But he never appeared. I just kept putting one foot in front of the other in my attempts to come across Eric.

I walked down a dark alley without noticing until it was too late, there was a creepy, tall man, with dark brown hair, and his dark eyes that stared down at me. He was wearing all black too! I assumed he was in his 30's by the slight wrinkles that were starting to form on his tanned face. I turned around and tried to walk the other way, I was so scared!

He called out to me "Hey, beautiful, where you going?"

I didn't reply, I was more worried about coming out of this dark alley unscarred then answering him. I started to power walk, but the man came after me, he grabbed my arm and pushed me towards the wooden and brick built fence.

I screamed "Help! Help me!" My voice was hoarse.

My screams were aimless as no one was around. As I was being pushed back I tripped on a stick and fell backwards on to the floor, my head hit the fence and the smell of my own blood filled my nostrils. I started to get dizzy.

I yelled "Help!" again, but my speech was slurred.

The man who was now towering me just laughed. "Don't worry I'm not going to hurt you...much."

My head was now stinging and aching, I touched the back of my head where my ponytail was, there was heaps of blood now and it covered my hands. My vision became blurry and whatever the man was saying sounded like a distant buzz. The man reached out to touch me, I attempted to wriggle away but couldn't manage it. I was too dizzy to move. He slapped me across the face. My face started to burn. The man grabbed my arm again and I flinched, he slowly dragged be along with him as I was still slumped on the floor. I could feel my legs being scratched by little twigs, but those little scratches were nothing compared to what my head was feeling. It still ached. All that I could think was 'I'm going to die, what a bad way to die. I would prefer to be old and grey, but clearly my time has come for me to die. Die in an alley where some man attacked me. Defenseless me, going to die. I wished it was more of a peaceful death A bit less painful would have been nice.' As you can tell, I exaggerate things a little too much.

The man had slowed down, he stopped dragging me, but I couldn't see where I was.
