I ventured forward forcing my way through the overgrown blades of grass. I came to this fairground out of my own curiosity; to see if the rumours were true.
The fairground released an ominous atmosphere as if I had been spirited away to a whole other dimension. I could hear the creaking of the unstable metal under the weight of the rain, the relentless wind smashed against the side of the left over structure of a metal plated food stand. The area began to feel tight. Claustrophobic. Danger felt close. Sudden squawking of a murder of crows brought me back to reality.
I wondered further in, an eery feeling followed me as if I was being watched. Stalked. A ghostly sound of children's laughter echoed as it bounced, violently off the structures.
Black, shadow entities perched, frozen upon the backs of the rusted horses reigned to the merry-go-round. Mystic tunes of childhood memories; the notes were released from the broken speakers attached to the merry-go-round. This couldn't be real...
Everything fell silent. All but the well that sat next to me, dripping from the spouts that fell from the sky. Drip. Drip. Drip. The noise echoed as it crawled up its walls in a spiral motion. Looking down I saw no end only an abyss travelling forever to an unknown destination.
Tangy, metallic droplets breached my mouth as they leaped from the tracks that hung dangerously above my vulnerable head. The taste was stained upon my lips. An endless taste of metal. Hideous.
I wrote in my leather journal, trying to express my surroundings and experiences here. But I couldn't write much. What happened? What was it that I witnessed? Was it my mind playing tricks or reality? Questions rambled in my head, there was too much that needed explaining. This could mean the rumours were true.
Adrenaline and excitement ran through my body. I want to see more. To explore more. Finally something that was worth my time.
