Lilina Arconili ran from the Sanctuary of the Sacred as fast as she possibly could with tears in her enchanting green eyes. That man took her parents and she had no idea why.

She saw something out of the corner of her eye and swung her mother's sword that she had taken from the scene. She was surprised to see the king of her land meet her sword with his own. She apologized profusely and tried to run away. She wasn't worthy to be face to face with such a powerful man, she wasn't even sure that she would ever be able to face anyone ever again after what had happened. She ran as fast as her small shaking legs could carry her. Her sword was slowing her down but she couldn't leave it, it was all she had left.

When she assumed she was far enough away, she laid down, and cried.

Everything was fine. She and her parents were visiting the Sanctuary of the Sacred. It was a beautiful night, the stars were glowing bright, the leaves shimmered in the moonlight creating a whimsical look. Lilina was happy, it felt like heaven. But, all good things must end, and this ended worse than anyone could've ever predicted.

As the happy family got up to leave, a man made of shimmery mist appeared. Her parents drew their weapons and told Lilina to stay back. Lilina watched anxiously as the man talked. "This is fate," he said. He raised his arms and opened his mouth. A fog rolled out his mouth and swirled around Lilina's parents. All Lilina could do was watch in horror as the fog entered her parents and they then turned to fog themselves. The fog entered the man's hands and he disappeared.

When Lilina looked up with her big sad eyes, she noticed the king had walked up to her, he came and sat down next to her. Lilina just stared as she wiped the tears from her eyes to look at least slightly presentable. The king smiled at her. "Would you like to come back to the castle with me?" he asked. Lilina didn't want to, she wanted to be left alone, but she knew refusing the king was punishable by death, so she nodded.

As the king led Lilina through the winding hallways of the castle, the child grew more and more curious. What would such a powerful king want with a small, insignificant child? Who would ever care about her now that her parents were gone?

The king went into a room and told Lilina to wait outside. She heard voices but it was too quiet to understand. When the king came out again he told Lilina to go in without him. She clung tight to her sword, her only form of comfort. The room was dark and whimsical. There were delicate fabrics draped all over the room. Near the back of the room stood a man, the same man who took Lilina's parents. Lilina's heart swelled with emotions. Hate, anger, sadness, confusion. She rose her sword as a signal to stay away. The man ignored it and came closer to her. "You are the one who can destroy the king. You cannot be allowed," he said.

"W-what do y-you mean?" she stuttered as tears rolled down her cheek.

"The king has named you as a threat."

"T-that doesn-n-n't answer-r m-m-my-y question! A-and why d-did you tak-ke my parents?!"

"So there is no one to remind you of who you were," the king said as he entered the room "There is only one who can kill me, and you, Lilina Arconili, are that one."

"B-b-bu-ut-t why m-m-m-me? Why-y-y a-a-am I s-so p-p-powerful?" she held her sword high but shook. The king stalked closer. "You have the powers of Zulera, the ancient warrior who was the only one who could destroy any foe she desired. You are her descendant, and the one she trusted with her power. You cannot be allowed to kill me."

"W-w-w-w-why would-d-d you-u tell m-me if you d-d-don't-t want me-e to know-w?"

"Because, soon you won't even remember your own name." The spirit man put his hands on Lilina's head. She tried to get away but his grip was strong even though he was merely an apparition. She slowly lost consciousness. The last thing she heard before the black consumed her was a name. The name she would grow to be very familiar with, "Amalae".

I kinda wrote this whole story in one day, so if it's bad I apologize. I'll be going back later and fixing it. I hope you enjoyed! Bye!
