Why She Ran

Amalae Tsukino woke up with a start. She had a nightmare about an awful war. In this dream, everyone she knew died. "It was just a dream..." she whispered to herself calmingly. Amalae was twenty one now, an adult. She had a passion for sword fighting, and the ancient history of their land.

She sprang out of bed and brushed her midnight colored hair and got dressed. She went to the dining room and waited for her father, the king.

"Good morning, Amalae," the king said as he took his seat.

"Good morning, Father," she replied. A servant brought them some food and they ate in silence.

"I must be off," she said waiting for her father to excuse her. "Amalae," he said waving his hand. Amalae rushed to her room and grabbed her sword. The sword had been "acting" strange recently. It was hard to describe. It was like it wanted to say something but it couldn't. She stared at the swirling design on the blade, the pale blue jewel on the grip that shimmered no matter where it was. "I know that you're trying to tell me something," she said to the sword. "But what?" She stared at it, waiting for a response, but none came. She started to put the sword down, but stopped when she heard a faint voice that sounded similar to her own. She listened intently. "Run away," it said. "you cannot trust the king."

"What do you mean? He is my father!" she whispered.

"I cannot explain. You just have to trust me. You must leave immediately. You must regain your memories." Amalae could not deny this voice, though she did not know why. She trusted it though she had no real reason.

"I will do as you say." With no reason to trust this voice, and though she had no reason to run, she did. She ran as fast as she could and trusted the voice. Trusted what it had to say about regaining her memories.

Oh my gosh, this was shorter than the prologue! XD Oh well, I hope you enjoyed! Oh, I will also be making an origin for another one of my OCs; Seika Kataoka (lol so Japanese. I like Japanese names, ok?). Anyway, that was all, hope you enjoyed!
