Okay, I haven't got the chance to introduce myself and explain everything.

Originally, I had began writing this story last year in December and progressed about 13 chapters into it, which I released on Fanfiction.net, which is sort of like Wattpad's counterpart, apart from Archive of our own. It had gotten a substantial amount of views and a lot of people liked the Perstia pairing. I was afraid someone would copy my work onto other platforms and take credit for it, so before that could happen, I made an account here and posted this.

I never thought it would gain the attention it did. I thought a new story on here would be extremely difficult to find viewership. This was just insurance so that no one would be able to illegally gain my readers and take my likes. I posted the first few chapters and didn't expect much, but after reading the comments on chapter 4, I realised that people were actually liking this. Hence, I'm writing this note.

Aforementioned, 13 chapters had already been released on ff.net, and the storyline had already been panned out well. This may not be the case in the opinion of the readers here. Every fan fiction community is different, and I originally intended to cater to the likes of those in ff.net. Therefore, you readers here may have a different standpoint on the chapters to come. And thus, I am pleading to you, that if I release these chapters within the span of the next few days, you will have faith in me that I know what I am doing with my story and its plot.

I warn you now, this will not be a story filled with incessant romance. I despise those stories I find in boundless amounts, both on here and ff.net. I do not want this story to just be another mindless and effortless romance story. This story falls under the category of both romance and adventure - I hope you readers will treat it as such.

I apologise for not replying to those commenters. I had posted this with a "don't care" attitude, but with the attention it has gained, I've realised I should be more mindful of you guys. I hope you guys weren't disappointed that your author was acting inhuman and never replied to any comments.

With that being said, here's to @FauzanHarsyah's comment and reply: hi, so hopefully this answered your question: I've already written this out. I can't make any promises. However, the one thing I can promise you is that Percy will NOT be made a god, and I want to tell everyone reading this, why.

My experience reading fanfiction for two years can be summed up in a word: unoriginal. Take a look at the fanfiction created by the community. So many cliches being overused, plot lines are merely copies from other popular stories. My favourite example is the Pertemis fanfictions on ff.net. Ever since a story about Percy betrayed by Annabeth, which by the way is another overused cliche, and takes a vow by Chaos, becomes guardian of the Hunt, became widely known, so many people have created their own pitifully written version which are awful compared to the original. It's difficult to find a Pertemis that's different from the rest.

When I set out to write this story, I wanted to make something different, a story that had romance, but was painfully developed through hardship, adventure and sacrifices. As Rick Riordan's Cupid said, "Love is no flowery softness! It is a never-ending quest." Something like that. At any rate, I wrote this to show the community that if you come up with something original, it'll receive some attention. Not a lot. The other part relies on your writing, but that's another talk for another time.

Back to the topic: Percy being made a god is not only overused, it's contradictory to his character. I've tried to make all my characters here matching to their personalities in the books. He's already denied godhood once, I doubt he'll accept it a second time.

I'm not sure how this Author's Note will be received. Maybe some of you will be surprised by the future chapters and it's not how you want the story to go and you quit this story, et cetera. I can honestly say if you do so, I don't care. Like I said, this story here is just to prevent those copycats from infringing my copyright. For those that enjoy this and the chapters to come, I'm glad I gave you guys a story that hopefully brightened up your day.

Speaking of which, the next chapter will be released by tomorrow. I'm rather caught up in my schoolwork now. Copying my documents onto here (I use mobile to write), and editing in the italics and whatnot takes up time I unfortunately do not have.

One last thing, now that you've found out I've written 13 chapters and I still refuse to upload them all at once, and some of you will be all "you just want more readers and keep your existing ones in suspense". Sure, think that way. I don't care.

Thanks for reading,

-Ignatius
