Unexpected

Looking around at all the people on the track. First day of practice there's easily 200 people ready to try and make their mark on the school, on the world by being a track star. Little do they know coach works us and most of them won't make it past the first week. Have fun newbies I thought to myself. I met up with my group of friends. There was Aston, Park (short for Parkston) and Bowery, the triplets who's parents are beyond rich there's also Neil Dakota and Sebastian. Then there's me. Hudson Rose. No one calls me that so I go by Son or Sonnie. We've been on the track team for 3 years so of course coach knows us a little to while. He knows our tricks our runs our jumps everything possible for him to know about us as track peps. It's kinda funny coach calls this little group the hept-tide. Hept- the term used for 7 in chemistry because he's a chem teacher (who has all of us in class. The same class. So he really knows us) and tide- like the ocean tide because you never know what we're going to do. We start talking about what's in store for us this season and what events we want to try. All of a sudden I see the guy I've been crushing on hard for about 4 months now. I blush slightly as he walks over to me.
"Hey Sonnie!" He said with a huge smile on his face causing me to blush so much.
"Oh hi Ryder. What's up?"
"I was wondering if I could talk to you for a minute?" He said this well started to twist his body so I left my friend group to talk to him we went off the track back to the school. He suddenly stopped and looked at me took my hand into his and said "Hudson Rose I was wondering if you.... Nevermind it's stupid."
"No say it. Please?"
" I was wondering if you are doing anything Saturday? If you're not busy maybe we can you know go out?"
"As in like a date?"
"Yeah a date if that's okay with you. I've know you've liked me for a while and I have too I just haven't been able to tell you."
"I would love to" I say with a blush as he pushes a piece of my hair behind my ear and kisses my cheek.
"You don't know how long I've waited to do that." He said with a sly smile that drove me crazy. "And you don't know how long I've wanted to do this." I say quickly before kissing his lips ever so slightly. We both pulled back our faces flushed rosey pink and a goofy smile on our faces. "I can't wait for Saturday."
"Nether can I. It's going to be amazing!" After I said that o ran back to the track and found the rest of Hept-Tide. As soon as I reached them I was bombarded with questions. "What did you guys talk about?", "What happened?", "What did he say?", "Why are you blushing so hard?" and so on. I tried to answer but I couldn't stop smiling. "You will know soon enough. In other words I'm not telling." After saying that I started my warm up laps around the track. I must've been going faster than I normally do because coach pulled me over to the side and asked what's up. I told him everything that just happened which is strange for most people but I'm very close with my coach and he said he's glad that I'm happy and that it was Ryder who asked me on a date versus any other guy.
