Hey guys... Okay I'm rewrite a story that originally came from Jessica Madden. I thought it would be cool to rewrite it and I have full permission to go forth with this story. And if I have any bad grammar and stuff like that, don't worry about it. I'll edit the story after I finish writing it. Thanks :)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I stare into my maths text book that's blurring my vision. I don't know how long I've been staring at the scrambled numbers on the page, but I'm still having difficulties with understand Algebra. I didn't choose this class, it's apparently a "nesseccary" subject to be taught before you finish school.  And plus I need to get good marks in this class to get into university. But not at the rate I'm going at this moment. And today I'm unfocused, especially all the noise happening next door. Loud cries for help and interrupted voices filled my silence. My window's shut tight but the sound still seeps through. I bit my bottom lip to try and refocus but the screams are too painful to force out of my head. I glanced through my window to see Josh sitting on his bed, legs pushed up against his body, rocking himself softly. The screaming has stopped now but they still run through my mind. I looked back at my maths text book and decided that Josh was more important.

Josh Harman, my next door neighbour. Our rooms are opposite each other and can see each other through the window. We've been neighbours for the past nine years now. Basically being the only kid on the street and a only child, I was excited to meet Josh and make a new friend. When he finally moved in, we instantly became friends.  He was adopted by the nicest couple I've ever met in my life. They've been trying to have a child for years, they tried everything you could find about being pregnant. But she wasn't capable enough to hold a child inside her. So they stop for awhile then decided adopting is better choice to make.

I opened the window, feeling the warm air hitting against my skin. There's a tree that sits inbetween mine and Josh's house. I climb out the window and steadily place my feet on the branch. I wobble side to side, trying to keep my balance. I wrapped my arms around the trunk of the tree when I finally reached it. I struggle to reach the other branch but I eventually got on it. I knocked on Josh's window. He shot his head up and smiled. I smiled back and signalled him to open the window.

He walked over cautiously and opened the window. I slipped inside and sat on his bed. I look around at the white walls, it making Josh seem like he's in some Mental Institute. Sure the posters sort of brought life back to his room but it feels empty. Even with Josh and I in it. Josh sits beside me and stares at me closely. It's making me uncomfortable actually. I face him and a smile spread across his face. I smiled back and fell back onto his bed, he looked down at me and chucked a little. I giggled and looked at him.

Josh has been my best friend for nine years now.  We tell each other our biggest secrets and all of that stuff. When we were nine, Josh told me a story about his family. I think about it all the time. I feel sorry for him that his parents weren't here to see him grow up...

Josh fell back to and we both looked at the ceiling. Sitting there in silence, I didn't know what to talk about. Josh slid his hand into mine. I squeezed it tightly and he squeezed harder. "Emily." Josh says. I look at him. "Having trouble with your math?" He asked. Josh is great at Algebra but he never pays attention in class. Which is extremely unfair because I sit there and try to learn something in maths, I just don't understand it.

I looked at him with a weird look, trying to figure out why he knows I'm having trouble? "Uh, I could see you through the window. You're so focused."

"Oh okay I see where you're coming from. Ha, at first I didn't understand why you asked me." I said now that I fully understood him. "Why? Do you wanna help me?" I asked. Josh just smiled and stood up from the bed. He pulled me up and went to my room.

Josh sat at my desk and started writing into my maths book. I watched him as he wrote into my book. I looked at my camera that sat on my bedside table. I though about grabbing it for a second then did it. Josh looked at me, "Say cheese." I laughed. Josh showed me a ten million dollar smile and got back to work. I like to capture true moments on this camera of me and Josh. I though this would be the perfect moment to remember. A flash went off and Josh did a funny hand movement that I caught on camera. Priceless moments are the best.

I put my camera on my bed and walked over to Josh again. I put my arms around his neck and rested my head on his shoulder. He kept writing the maths assignment. Suddenly a knock came from the door, quickly followed by a voice. "Honey, how's the assignment going." Mum poked her head through the door, I turned to her. "Oh am I interruping something?" I tried to figure what she was talking about. I quickly realised what she meant and stood up.

I cleared my throat. "No you didn't. Josh is just... helping me with the assignment." I tucked some hair behind my ear.

"Mmm, okay then. I'll leave you to it." Mum slowly closed the door. I stood there in awkward silence as Josh stared at me. I looked at him and sat in the middle of my room. Ha, I can't believe there was something happening between us. The only thing that's going to happen is just being friends...

I suddenly saw a flash in my face. I rubbed my eyes to try and get rid of the light in my eyes. Josh smiled. "Priceless moment." He said. I smiled back and stood up. "Here, lets take one of me and you," he suggested. I liked the idea and got closer to him. Flashing light distrubted my vision as he kept taking more and more. Then Josh look at the camera, confused almost. He tried to take another picture but it didn't work. "Work you stupid thing." He said as he shook it around. "Come on, work!" I grabbed his wrist and took the camera.

"Full memory I guess. Don't worry we can take more photos another day." I smiled at him, he returned the smile. I giggled then punched his playfully and ran to my bed. He chased me and started tickling me. I laughed so hard my stomach was starting to get sore.

Josh finally stopped and we laid down on my bed. We both stared at the ceiling for awhile. I thought back to when my mum came in earlier. Did she really think that Josh and I were finally together or something? And we always get close like that. But it doesn't mean anything more than just friends.

"Emily, dinner's ready." Dad yelled out. 'Urgh' escaped my lips and sat up. Josh sat up too and decided that he should go, even though in his eyes he truthfully didn't want to leave.  He opened the window and left. I stood there and then ran over to it.

"Josh!" I yelled. Josh looked at me as he was halfway in the window. "You can come over later, okay?" He smiled and then nodded his head. I closed the window and left for down stairs.
