*Kayla's POV*
It's been a day and I realize just how much I missed Josh. He took me back to our favorite places when we were kids. Jenna and Tyler were out buying things for their new house, while Josh and I were unpacking my things that Vinny was kind enough to pack up and send.
I'd been getting calls after calls from Chris, but I couldn't bring myself to answer them. I'd get multiple texts from him daily, as well as the occasional text from Bradley.
I was in my silk flannel and shorts, making sure to stay inside since October in Ohio wasn't necessarily the warmest place on earth. Josh had on his sweats and a grey v-neck. I'd catch myself occasionally watching him. He'd gotten fit since I'd last seen him.
His arms were strong and his body was lean. I couldn't help but to think what it would feel like for him to hold me late at night. He looked up from where he was unpacking a box and gave me that dazzling smile before returning to unpacking.
I sighed when I reached the box I'd been dreading. I sat down and slowly began pulling out objects. The majority of it was stuff from Bradley or things that reminded me off him. I pulled out a porcelain jewelry box and opened it to look through the pictures.
There were multiple Polaroids that I had taken of Bradley, just lounging around the house, doing nothing in particular. In one of them, his eyes were downcast and he was laughing. His hair was in his face and he was just in his boxers. I kind of missed his smile.
"K, are you alright? You're flushed." I looked up to meet Josh's worried gaze.
"Oh, um, yeah. I'm fine. Just a little warm is all." I smiled and put the pictures back into the jewelry box. I set the porcelain object on my new vanity, which Josh was kind enough to give me as a home warming gift. He set the vintage piece up when Tyler moved out."Well, I was thinking that for dinner we could go out to this nice Japanese restaurant. They've got some awesome sushi. It's right next to where the burger joint used to be."
"That sounds lovely, actually. It's been quite some time since I've eaten sushi, especially fresh sushi. Chris didn't like it so I didn't particularly bring it on the bus or to the apartment." I looked down at my hello kitty sneakers and picked at the 3D hair bow.
"Well, this should be a treat then. They have that spicy mayonnaise and eel sauce that you love so much." I smiled and nodded, watching him unpack. He got to a certain point of the box before stopping. His cheeks turned bright pink and he slowly closed the box, pushing it over to me.
"I'm sorry, I didn't realize your personables and intimates were in here.."I giggled and pulled the box up to me, opening it to see what he was talking about. Low and behold all of my pink knickers and bras were stowed away, along with a few objects that shall remain unnamed. In fact, just about everything in there is pink.
I looked up through my lashes to see Josh, still quite flustered with himseld. I smiled and crawled over to sit next to him on the perfectly light blue carpet. I leaned my head on his shoulder and held his arm, looking at nothing in particular.
"You know, I don't mind that you saw that. It is slightly embarrassing but..We've been friends for years. Plus, you have walked in on me getting dressed quite a few times." I felt his bicep tense and I looked up at him. He was biting his lip and looking forward.
I sighed and reached my right hand up, placing my open hand on his cheek and jaw, turning his head to face mine. I slowly leaned in and kissed his cheek softly, feeling his hand gently being placed on my knee.
After the kiss, I replaced my head to his shoulder and just closed my eyes, holding his arm and cuddling up to his side.
I missed my best friend.

*Josh's POV*
I was quite...embarrassed, to say the least. I went into the bathroom and just sat for a minute, my head in my hands. I saw her intimates..her personal items.
She took it very well, but that meant a lot to me. I've had feelings for Kayla ever since we were kids. Now that she was back, my feelings came rushing in like a tidal wave.
Her long pink hair that brushed her lower back, her dark eyelashes that brushed her cheeks, her plump rosy lips that she bites when she's frustrated...I missed all of it.
I let out a deep breath and checked my texts. Tyler and Jenna found a few things today and we're asking if Kayla and I had plans. I told him to meet us at the sushi place at six o'clock.
When I walked back into Kayla's room, she was laying on the floor with a very happy cat kneading onto her stomach. Her eyes were closed and her hair flowed across the floor like cotton candy waves.
Her chest slowly rose and fell, and I noticed her flannel wasn't buttoned completely, so her stomach showed slightly. I went over and picked her up, careful not to wake her. I set her in the giant queen sized bed and she curled her legs up to her chest, mumbling incoherent words.
I pulled the covers over her tiny frame before walking out. I couldn't help but think what she looked like in those pink cotton underwear.
