"Mmm." Cobarious growls low in his throat, next to my ear, "I've missed you."
I turn around and throw my arms around him, "You're back! I missed you."
He kisses my forehead," We were only gone for three days."
I stick my tounge out at him, "You said you missed me first."
"I know. I'm playing baby doll." He looks down at me. His eyes sparkle a crisp, clear blue with light green, gold, and red flecks.
I lay my head on his chest and breathe him in, "You could've called you know?"
"I know. I'm sorry. We got ambushed by people who wanted in." He says, quietly.
I look up at him, "I need to tell you something. While you were gone I adopted a little kid. And when I say little, I mean fourteen. Her name is Kiley. She's very shy at first but once she gets to know you, she won't quit talking."
He takes my hand, "Let me meet her then."
I walk up the stairs and knock on her door, "Kiley?"
I hear light footsteps walking our way and the doorknob turns, "Yeah?" She asks, turning to look in Cobarious' direction. Her mouth falls open and she looks back at me, "Is this Cobarious?"
A smile makes its way across my face and I nod, "Yes. Kiley this is Cobarious and Cobarious this is Kiley."
Cobarious smiles, holding out his hand, "It's nice to meet you."
She runs over to him and throws her arms around him, "Bella is the best. She saved me, she helped me. She's my hero. And by the way you are hot!"
I cough, "Kiley!" My face turns bright red.
"Looks like you have competition." Cobarious smiles in my direction.
"Nope, no competition." Kiley smiles. "She had you first."
"Yes I did." I stick my tounge out at her playfully, "Alright, start your homework again missy. I just thought you'd like to meet him."
She hugs me, "I did. Thanks." She turns around and closes the door behind her.
Cobarious pulls me towards our room and asks, "Have you changed it around yet?"
"Nope. Haven't had the chance. I'm not that strong, unlike you." I giggle, "I will when you get time off from duty." I purse my lips then make a note out loud, "Which I need to talk to Anthony about. He's using the same people way too much."
"That's because we have nobody else baby doll." He says, "We need more people."
I turn to look at him, "But we recruited ten more people last week."
Cobarious looks down at the floor. "Five we infected and two were killed during the ambush."
"How the HELL were they killed?" I growl.
"They captured them. We tried to find them discretely, but that blew up in our faces." He says softly.
"Who was it that was killed?" I ask, trying to hide my anger, but losing because of the squeak in my voice.
"Darien and Liam."
"Son of a bitch!" I yell, running out of the room, "Kiley stay here and do your homework! I'll be back!" I run down the stairs and outside, ignoring Cobarious yells, attempting to stop me.
I run down to Anthony's house and smash through his open door, "Anthony where the hell are you?!"
"In here Bella." I stomp into his office.
