I wander through the maze of hallways and rooms as Flint tells me where to go. He says he has turned off the cameras, but they'll only be off for eight minutes, so I can't take my time. Besides that, all I have to worry about are the lasers. At least they're only in one part of the house.
I take yet another turn and Flint yells in my earpiece right as I turn the corner.
"Watch out! There's the lasers, you idiot!"
"No need to be rude, I have eyes thank you."
I leap over the first laser. One down, eleven to go. Another beams right through the middle of the hallway. I slide under it, then go through four more. Then next two I roll under, and then I hop over the ones after that.
"One left."
I flip clean over it, turn to the lasers, and bow with a flourish. Then I push a button on the wall to turn them off.
"Alright, showoff, go down that hallway and you'll see the safe. I know you bowed at the end there."
"You know me so well."
"Of course I do. Hurry up, you've only got three minutes!"
I dash over to the end of the hallway.
"Ready."
He gives me another string of numbers as my gloved fingers sweep over the keypad.
Nothing happens.
"Are you sure that's right?"
"Oops, I thought the seven was a one."
"Dang it, Flint. How much time left?" I'm already retyping the code.
"Two minutes, twenty seconds."
This time it clicks and the safe opens.
I take off my backpack, ready to shove money into it.
But I'm very disappointed with what I find.
"What the heck!"
"What is it? Hurry up!"
"Uh! Never mind! I'll just take it anyways."
I plop the tiny object into my black backpack and run like crazy out of the giant house.
