Chapter 2: Meeting Grandma

Julian's POV

Okay, go night-night baby girl, love you I said kissing Riley's cheek and laying her in her crib. Then about 10 mins later she started crying. Hey, hey what's up baby girl? I asked picking her up. I fed her a bottle then went back downstairs with my friends. "What's wrong?" Jake asked. "Riley won't sleep" I said sitting on the couch. Then Riley started crying again.

"Alright, I'm outta here night y'all, good luck J" Justin said walking out the house. "You staying the night, Jake?" I asked Jacob. "Yea, if that lil princess in there let's me sleep" he said laughing then I went upstairs to get her. I picked her up out of the crib and she was really warm, my AC ain't working so it is hot in my house. Downstairs is a lot cooler but if we sleep down there Jake won't be able to sleep, so we just gotta crack a window and hope that the AC will start working sometime soon.

I took her clothes off her so she was just in a diaper and put her in my bed with pillows around her so she won't fall off the bed. Then I laid next to her and we both went to sleep.

I was sleeping then next thing I know I get cracked up side the head. I wake up and I'm on the floor, I must've fell off the bed and hit my head on my nightstand. Then Mackenzie started screaming so I jumped up to get her and got light headed. I sat on the bed for a minute and grabbed Kenzie.

Then I finally got up and went downstairs to the kitchen. I went to put her bottle in the microwave but then I seen the time, 11:55 am. Princess you did it I said smiling at her she just looked at me confused and started laughing. She slept the whole night I put her in my bed at 10:08 pm!

Then Jake came walking in oh so someone slept the whole night? He asked grabbing her out of my hands. Yup I said putting the bottle in the microwave. And what was that loud bang noise? He asked. She didn't fall off the bed did she? He asked starting to freak out. No, but I did I said making a pouty face and it really hurt. Awe poor baby Jake said do you want me to kiss it? He asked. I just laughed and finished making the bottle.

I've debated on taking Riley over to my mom's house for about 2 weeks now. I mean she is gonna be a month old soon and she still hasn't meet her grandma. I know I've disappointed them enough by dropping out of school and shit but a baby at seventeen? They're gonna be pissed.

Ahh Riley squealed kicking her feet. Hey hey hey no ma'am I got your bottle right here I said feeding her. So what you up to today? Jake asked. Taking Riley Kate to see her grandma and grandaddy I said kissing her cheek. Nice, well good luck he said kissing Riley's head then running out the door saying I'm meeting up with Rachael.

I burped her, she puked on me then I carried her upstairs to get changed. I put a daddy's little girl outfit on her with a cute little hat. Then I changed into a camo shirt and some blue jeans. I then got the diaper bag reasy, grabbed my phone, keys, then headed over to my parents' house.

I pulled up to the house, grabbed the car seat and walked up to the door. I rung the door bell and checked to see if Riley was still asleep, she was. Julian! What a surpri- she stopped when she seen the car seat what the hell! She said looking furious. Good to see you too mom I said pulling her into a hug.

We went into the living room and sat on the couch to talk. So, let me see her my mom said looking inside the car seat. She's 3 weeks and 4 days old I said unbuckling her. Come here baby girl I said pulling her out. I handed her to my mom then she asked so what one night stand whore did you not wrap your willy up with?

Mom, I said upset her mom is Hannah. Oh that short girl that you dated for what, two weeks? She asked. Yea mom, that girl I said. So where is she? My mom asked. She passed away during childbirth I said looking at Riley. Oh, I'm sorry honey my mom said.

So how do you plan on supporting her? When do you want me to watch her so you can get high or go out and drink? When you get a job I'll be your damn babysitter, it's fine she said. Mom no no no, I don't need a babysitter, I'm not going out anymore, and I got a job I said looking at her. I got an online job so I can work at home I said.

Well let's see how long you can keep this job she said making faces at Riley. I'm going to keep this job mom, and I know you think I can't do this I said. Think? Julie, I know you can't do this she said, you're my baby boy I know you too well. Well, I'm gonna prove you wrong I said welp, we've gotta get going I said reaching for Riley. No no no, why are you leaving so soon? She asked pulling Riley away. I have to go to the store, she needs more formula before she runs out and I need to pick up some more diapers I said.

Well, I can keep her here while you go to the store she said. No, I'm fine mom I said taking Riley from her. Okay okay she said kissing Riley's head. Bye honey she said kissing my cheek, bye mom I said kissing her other cheek. I strapped Riley in then left out the house.

We got to Kruger's and I went straight to the formula, I got her the same kind, similac. Then I went over to the diapers and there's was a girl there, looked about the same age as me and she had a baby boy, a little older than Riley. I bent down to get about 3 newborn size bags and stood back up and me and the girl banged heads. I'm so sorry I said looking down at her, no im sorry she said.

It was my fault I said. Hey, how old is your baby? She asked. Three weeks I said. Okay well then you better put back about two of those Pampers she said. Excuse me? I asked kind of offended. Oh no, it's just those are newborn size and I promise she'll be growing out of them before the first bag in done she said. You think? I asked looking at them. Yea, I did the same with Noah she said. It was bad, I had to hurry and run to get a size one she said. Okay, well thank you i said putting two of them back and grabbing two size one Pampers.

No problem she said. Hey, do you wanna maybe make a play date? I asked well if not it's okay, never mind I said. No, no that would be great she said smiling. Okay, can I have your number? I asked. Yea, sure she said and we exchanged numbers. Okay, I'll text you later I said and started down the check out. I looked down and that was not Riley in my cart, tho wasn't my cart. I turned around and the girl was headed at me oh name I thought.

I think this one is yours I said and I think this one is yours she said. We switched carts oh and I'm Julian by the way I said. I'm Zoey she said smiling.
