CHAPTER 28
PLANS
MIA COLLINS
6 days later
"Please, Mia! You gotta do something." She begs me crying.
"But how do you know he's into drugs?" I ask her.
"He didn't share anything that's happening with him after that goddamn party. He left home every day and came back late at night. He did nothing but shut his door and not replying to me. As a routine he left home that morning and I followed him in my car. He entered a building and I found him with a gang of guys who seemed older than him and that's when I found that he's taking drugs."
"Mia, I know it's only you who knows what happened that night in the party. I'm sure about it. You don't have to tell me about it if you don't wish to but all I ask of you is to please get Adam back to normalcy. I don't want my son to die as a drug addict. He's told me stories about you and how much he's into you. I know it's only you who can help me with this." She says holding my hands.
"Ma'am, here's your coffee." The waiter says and places two cups of coffee on our table.
"Thank you." I say him and then he walks away.
"I can't believe this is happening. I didn't think of him to do such a thing. He has disappointed me to such a great extent. I'll try my best to revive him back. Don't you worry, Mrs. Johnson." I convince her.
"I'm sure he'll listen to you. I hope this works." She says and takes a sip of coffee.
I drink my cup as slow as possible.
I can't believe Adam would be this bad.
He's gone complete bonkers.
Fuck you, Adam!
"Okay. See you soon, Mia. Good bye." She says getting up from her seat. She hugs me and I know there's a deeper meaning in that hug. She has given me a responsibility and I need to work this out.
"Bye."
>>>>>>>>>>>> 2 days later>>>>>>>>>>
I'm standing outside Adam's house. I don't know if my plans will work.
God! Help me!
I ring the door bell and Adam's mom opens the door.
"He's in his room. It's better I leave the two of you alone. I'm going to shop some vegetables meanwhile. All the best." She says and walks away leaving me alone in her house.
The thought of me alone in Adam's house with him in his room probably in a hangover seems scary.
I walk upstairs and knock the only room in the floor.
He opens the door red- eyed. Probably he's lost sleep last night. Or maybe lost sleep this entire month.
"What the fuck? Am I dreaming?" I can hear him mumble.
"Adam. I want to talk to you." I say him confidently.
Whom should I be scared of? Adam was my friend for years afterall.
"Mia?! Is that you?" he asks me rubbing his eyes and I nod.
"This is impossible. Mom!!" he shouts and I tell him that she's gone.
"What? Okay, now I don't want to seem rude but I have to ask this. Why are you here? There's no way you are here after what happened in the party that night."
