"Amber can you come down here please." My mom called down to me I lazy got up from my oh so comfortable bed. I quickly walked down the stair trying not to wake up my older brother Max,he would always get mad at me for waking him in the morning. I push my thoughts away and go down stairs where my mother is waiting.
"Yeah mom,what do you need"
"I need you walk over to the bakery, I ordered some cookies for your father and his work so they should be there by now, just ask and they will find them for you." My mother always loved sweets and baking them but when she needs a large order like for my fathers work she always asks them to make them.
" Alright is there anything else?"
"Not that I can think of no."
Of course well being the fourteen year old I am I notice my mother always wanting to do things by herself and I understand that since dad is almost never home she just became like that.
I start walking out of my house and start walking, this town has always been really empty so there's not a lot of cars passing by so I put in my earbuds
and start listening to music. I have always blocked out noises with music especially loud music I find it easy to escape reality which is what I need.
I reach the bakery but there is something off there is only one person here and they look a little sketchy, I can't put my finger in what it is maybe just the fact that he's in here all alone with nothing but him self. I walk to the counter and the lady with short blond hair gives me a really fake-trying not to show nervousness- smile, I smile awkwardly at her and grab the cookies and start to leave but the guy gets up and walks out the door and too the right at first I'm relieved but I don't let my guard down just in case as I quickly walk out a hand clasps over my mouth I hear screaming and gun shots around me and my mind start to go hazy and then I black out.
