The shrill ring of the alarm clock rang throughout the flat, jolting Alexa awake to try and end the horrific noise that had so cruelly interrupted her dream. A sleepy scan of the room confirmed Selena was already up and hunched over her desk, furiously typing an essay that probably wasn't due for another week.
'Morning.' The half hearted and distracted comment seemed like a harsh reminder to the still disorientated Alexa but she appreciated it all the same and reluctantly rolled out of bed, adjusting her roommates glasses back onto her eyes as she passed only to receive a grunt in return. She decided to take it as a thank you.
'Ow! Ow who put that stupid doorframe there!?'
Alexa smiled a little hearing the unmistakeable shout of flatmates number three, Georgie. It was soon followed by a half dressed and scraggly, tall figure with long dark hair currently piled into a bun.
'Morning George, you okay there?'
'Yeah yeah make me coffee.'
Another smile and about a minute later, Lex had made four coffees and placed three on the table and the final on Selena's desk. Georgie and her roommate Shannon silently sipped their coffee.
This was how most mornings in the girls' flat went, being at university brought them together and they were a close knit group of students who couldn't be more different. Academic. Fiery. Quiet. And the always optimistic Alexa. They complimented each other perfectly and brought out the best in one another, little did they know, their entire world was about to flipped upside down, for they are the Four Final Girls, and the Mortifer are coming.
