(I) Humble Beginnings

Kristina's Point Of View
My name is Kristina and I'm 19 years old from Atlanta, Georgia. I'm a local dancer and I can sing a little bit too.

Life is kinda hard right now because I'm trying to get discovered and every audition I've been to I have been turned down.

I heard that Prince will be here in ATL doing auditions and I'm gonna try to audition but who knows if I make it or not.

My upbringing wasn't the best my mom is deceased and my dad is an alcoholic so my upbringing was really emotionally scarring.

I moved out of my parents' old house got my own apartment by myself, and it can get kinda lonely not having anybody to talk to.

Lord knows that I'm tired and sometimes I feel like breaking down because I'm alone and nobody truly cares about my well-being.

Give me strength.

Prince's Point Of View
I'm Prince. Well of course you would know that by that now because I am one of the greatest entertainers of all time.

I'm currently in Atlanta looking for new dancers for my band New Power Generation and I have a show tonight at the Fox Theatre, and I'm hoping I find some pretty women who can be my protégés.

Who knows how this'll go.

Khristina's Point Of View
"BUZZ!" The alarm rings through my room nonstop. "Oh my god what the fuck," I groan.

I look up at my alarm clock and it's 10:37am. "DAMMIT I'M LATE TO THE AUDITION," I yelled and rush out of bed to do my morning routine.

I do my morning routine and run to my car unknowingly leaving my car keys in my apartment.

"Shit I left my car keys you know what fuck it I'm just gonna run there," I tell myself.

I run all the way over to the venue where the auditions are being held, and I'm an hour late so they might be packing up.

I rush through the doors of the venue and see that nobody is there.

"Dammit. Why does this shit always happen to me," I thought while looking around the venue.

I begin to leave the venue until I heard a voice call out from the back of the venue.

"Are you here for the auditions young lady," A short lightskinned woman asked.

"Um yes aren't you apart of Prince's New Power Generation," I exclaimed.

"Yes I'm Rosie nice to meet you," she extended her towards me. "Nice to meet you too Rosie I'm Khristina," I said while shaking her hand.

"Come on let me take you to the audition room," Rosie exclaims.

She shows me the way to the audition the room and we get to the room and I get extremely nervous.

"Oh my god what if this doesn't go well! What if he doesn't like me or my performance," I stated while getting nervous.

"Hey don't sweat it you got this Khristina. Don't stress yourself out," Rosie states and gives me a pat on the back.

I take a deep breathe in and I walk into the audition room.

I see a long table and three people are sitting there.

I notice that two of people sitting at the people are members of NPG and Prince is sitting in the middle staring directly at me.

Prince is wearing this white jumpsuit and was unbuttoned at his chest revealing some of his chest hair and was eating red tootsie pop.

"What is your name young lady," Prince asked making me snap out of my thoughts.

"Oh I'm Khristina," I responded.

"Well Khristina show us what you got," Prince exclaimed.

He turns on the music and "Get Off" starts playing.

I close my eyes and get into my zone and do the dance routine I made for this song, and then the music cuts off.

I stop dancing and It's silent for a moment then somebody starts clapping.

I look up to see Prince and the other two NPG members are clapping.

"I like you Khristina. You're the best I've seen all day you know I actually want you to perform at my show tonight," Prince states.

"REALLY ARE YOU FOR REAL," I say in shock.

He laughs "Yes for real I want you to perform with me tonight."

I walk towards him and shake his hand "Thank you thank you so much for giving me this opportunity."

He responds "Don't thank me you earned it babygirl." I run out of the audition room and see Rosie standing there.

"Well how did it go," she asks.

"It went amazing like so amazing to the point he wants me to perform with him tonight," I respond excitedly.

"Congratulations Khristina! Now come on we need to get you ready for the show," Rosie exclaimed.

My heart is literally beating out of my chest like Prince actually wants me to perform with him tonight, AND called me "babygirl" I can't believe this is actually happening!
