As we entered the castle, Ballad now human, I searched for Ella. She was my personal servant who served more as my friend than anything.
"Ella! Ella! I need you!" I called out for her.
"M'Lady, what is it?" I turned to her showing the bottle and explaining what I needed.
"I need a body of a younger girl. I hate to ask but it looks like we have to rob some morges." she gasped at the thought of stealing a body but she understood her place. I called to Boldero who was one of the last of the wolves. I asked if he could escort Ella to the hospital. He stared back at me with widened eyes.
"H-hospital? Forgive my rudeness but why?" he held my hand while asking.
"Bold, I need a body." I held up the bottle. He looked at it and raised an eyebrow.
"Haku, there's nothing there...." in a panic I looked at the bottle now clear and empty.
"Hakurei." a soft voice spoke quietly. There was a pink silhouette of a girl. A girl who only I could recognize. A sad spirit who passed before she should've. One who was killed by the one she trusted most.
"K-Kyu?" I was still in shock. Her soul had no face only the shape of her body and her voice. As small drops of pink shadow hit the tile floor, I realized I had to apologize. I slowly moved toward her extending my hand. She backed away, terrified. I saw something different in that moment. She looked at me I could feel her stare of fear. The pink shadow faded leaving a crying, terrified girl in white clothes.
"You...you!" her eyes narrowed and she glared at me. I knew what I had done to her then. It was because I killed her that she wouldn't look at me the same.
"So this is how it is. Heh, you seek revenge. I should've known." I shook my head.
At that moment I saw her body change color. From a light pink to bright blood red. And then the shadow faded, i could see her now. Bloodied and bruised, broken. Her soul was tainted, defiled. I t w a s m y f a u l t.
