Have you ever been pushed into the shadows by a family member or a friend ? I have, and might I tell you, it is a living nightmare.
Let me explain, my mother, a beautiful young woman, strong, kind, athletic, e.t.c. People have always asked questions like, "when will you win a marathon just like your mother", "how come you don't look as beautiful as your mother" or "Well, not everyone is perfect, right?" The questions are endless. People always ask me "why can't I be perfect like my mother."They always used to ask that. Until...
------------------------------------------------------ Breaking News: A hometown model/mother gets in a car accident while driving over the speed limit. With her 15 year old daughter in the car.
"Do you have anything to say?"The blonde reporter asked sheepishly. "MOVE ASSHOLE!" I push her out of my face and storm into the ambulance right before they close the door... A long moment of silence passes. "Is she-" "She won't be if you keep distracting us from our jobs!" The paramedic snapped. "Yes, she is still alive, but the accident has caused some major injuries that could very possibly be life threatening." I nod silently and sit back into my seat, remembering how our previous conversation went. Suddenly, I drift off into a deep sleep.
I awaken to the screech of the tires, telling me that finally, we arrived at the hospital. They pulled my strange looking mother out of the ambulance, and carried her away before I could protest.

At times I can be so impatient it is unhealthy. There is a TV in the waiting room playing Keeping Up With The Kardashians, great first the accident now this! Ugh! I think of how it might feel if my mom had cameras following her constantly... Suddenly I remember that I have my phone and earbuds, I waste no time setting it up.
After a while of jamming out to Panic! At The Disco an unsatisfied doctor came out."Your mother..." he trailed off into a deep stare. I instantly felt hot tears coming into my eyes. "Thank you for trying to save her." I manage to spit out before I rush out of the door.
I slam into the door on my way into the damp street. I whistle like they would do in the movies hoping for a taxi an Uber... nothing wait, what was that. I turn around to see a huge shaved Rottweiler staring at right back at me. It had pain in its eyes and scratches on its back. I calmly walk away slowly, a little faster, faster, faster okay I have to admit at this point I am running at a reasonable speed. I watched my feet pound into the ground. I do this until I run into a telephone pole. "Oww" I say, I notice that one of the staples went into my hand. Wow, can this day get any worse!
I go home and bury my face into my pillow. Why her, why not Gramma?!? Ray , my step dad , storms into my room without knocking. "What happened!" "Umm I ugh-" "Dammit Raven, can't you be helpful for once in your life!" Ouch that one really hurt. I glare at him telling him to back the fuck off. He gets the point and leaves my room. Damn, the slam of the door echo's through the house. I go downstairs to the kitchen and grab a sharp knife. I zoom back up the stairs, trying to be quiet. I finally get to my room and barricade the door, I look down at the knife in my hand and glance at my wrist. well I thought this should be fun * note the sarcasm* just as the blade is about to touch my skin, my phone goes off on my dresser, I check to see who it is.
It's my mom...
