"Sometimes it sails, sometimes it sinks."× × × × ×
"Ugh."
Remus and Peter snickered from their chairs in the Gryffindor Common Room as one by one, the drunks last night stumbled down the dormitory stairs with groans and grumbles.
It was a fine Sunday afternoon — good thing it was a Sunday or there was no way that the five could go to classes in their state — and Remus was in a very fine game of Wizard's Chess with Peter when their friends finally decided to wake up.
"Hey, you guys missed breakfast." said Remus, a smirk evident in his face as he clearly enjoyed his friends agony.
"And lunch too." added Peter with a chuckle.
James huffed and slumped down on the sofa with eyes closed and a hand clasping his forehead. "All I really want is ice cold water and a hung over potion."
"Ditto to that." said Lily who was probably too hung over that she actually sat down next to James.
Remus chuckled and shook his head, "Open your eyes, idiots. And look at the table in-front of you."
James and Lily both opened their eyes to see multiple flasks of a blue-greenish substance and two pitchers of sweating cold water.
"Oh, thank Merlin!"
"You're the best, Remus!"
The two literally lunged onto the table to drink their flasks of hung over potions. Vela, Marlene and Sirius — who were all grumbling on the stairs before — stumbled to the table in a flash when they saw the potions and the pitchers of water.
The five were currently chugging down when Alice Prewett arrived in the Common Room, her face automatically etched with amusement as she saw the scene. She chuckled and looked at Remus and Peter, "Where did you get the Athenolia? It takes two weeks to brew that."
Peter shrugged. "James and Sirius always get drunk. We have, like, a lifetime supply of it in our dorm."
Alice rolled her eyes with a grin. "Of course, you do."
In the midst of the five hung over friends who were all fighting for the pitcher of cold water, Alice shared a look with Remus. She smirked at him and the lad already knew what was on her mind. He simply rolled his eyes and paid his attention back to his match of Wizard's Chess with Peter, "She was drunk last night, Alice. She didn't knew what she was saying."
"Mmhmm," said Alice, pursing her lips in a taunting manner. "And drunk people become confident — they tend to say things that they can't say when they're sober."
Remus snorted. "As if — Queen to E7 — I mean, have you or have you not been our friend since first year? We don't, nor will we ever I think, go over the lines of mockery and insults."
"Technically, I wouldn't become your friend if it weren't for her and she wouldn't be friends with you if it weren't for Sirius being her twin but anyway," said Alice. "Hasn't it ever crossed your mind that girls are mean to the guys they like?
"I don't know what you two are talking about but —" said Peter who was obviously listening to the conversation but have no clue as to what or whom were they talking about. "— isn't it the other way around, Alice?"
"Oh, don't be a sexist." said Alice and at that, she, Remus and Peter shared a laughter and the topic was forgotten. Yet, Remus knew Alice would never stop taunting him about it. And, Remus' mind seemed to not want to stop bugging him about it either.
